1  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / How to frame your canvas art! on: March 06, 2017 05:13:14 PM
I'm thrilled with how these turned out!  I found a half price, 3 pack of 4x4 inch canvases for $1.50 at the craft store.  Already stretched on frames.  I created some little abstract paintings and then used wood trim from Home Depot to create a rustic, diy frame!

There are step by step images on my blog!

2  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / Quick and Easy Friendly Marshmallow Monsters on: October 26, 2016 07:38:26 PM
This is one of the quickest food craft projects I've ever done!

You'll need chocolate wafers in bright Halloween colors, full size marshmallows, the candle googly eyes, lollipop sticks and favor bags and ribbon for packaging.

I put the wafers in small glass bowls and melt in the microwave.  While melting, I push a lollipop stick into each marshmallow.  Then just dunk and twist in the melted chocolate and press on an eye or two . . . sit on a wax lined cookie tray to harden.

Once done, I slide one into a small favor bag and tie with ribbon for gift giving.

You can find step by step instructions and more images on my blog here:   http://www.peoniesandpears.com/?p=848
3  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Introduce Yourself / Hello from Central PA on: October 26, 2016 06:14:16 PM
Hello!  I just found this site today and have been browsing for the last hour!  What a fantastic mix of ideas and projects!

I'm a quickie crafter, new watercolorist, seasoned scrapbooker and food/craft blogger (with more of a focus on food).  My boys are grown and I've gotten past the empty nest syndrome phase and am loving the extra free time that I seem to have.  Our home now includes cats instead of kids.

I'm "Gigi" to three grandchildren and love that they are into crafting and creating.  So I'm always on the lookout for easy, kid friendly crafts.
