11  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / awesome wall hanging idea on: March 24, 2006 07:51:39 PM
this was posted on boingboing today, and it rocks my socks!

it should be hella easy to do, but what should i use for the backing piece that's cheap and requires no powertools for cutting to my specific dimensions (sp?)?
12  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Young Ones swap, anyone? on: March 23, 2006 07:47:02 PM
i found an older post, so i'm not sure if a new one is appropriate (sorry mods, if it isn't!) but it was from last year and it looked nothing ever came of it. i wanted to be sure this was seen.

i've noticed that there have been a lot of young ones crafts on here lately. any one interrested in a swap? my time and $ are beginning to stretch thin, but i would sacrifice to do this. it would rock so much!

may the seed of your loins be fruitful in the belly of your woman!
13  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / a new and IMPROVED flippin' sweet cake! on: December 18, 2005 09:11:07 PM

okay, so i made this one before.

then i saw this bag of hull-less caramel corn in my local gas station. while munching happily away on them one night i noticed how similar they looked to tater tots. i immediately giggled and started planning my next cake. this is what i came up with for my birthday party last night.

i loved it!
14  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / trailer park boys swap, anyone? on: November 08, 2005 08:42:00 AM
i wouldn't be able to do it myself until after the first of the year, but would anyone else be interrested in doing one? i can think of so many good ideas.... i mean bubbles and the kitties alone lends itself to a million crafts, let alone jullian, ricky, randy, mr lehey, the bottle kids... the list goes on! that show is so effin' awesome! i might even be willing to organize one, tho i've never done it before. but for TPB stuff, it's worth it! anyone else interrested?
15  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / flippin' sweet cake! on: October 29, 2005 01:10:59 PM
i made this cake with freezer paper and my mom's cake decoratey air brush thing at her sweet shop.

when i cut out the stencil i didn't think it would look good, but the moment i lifted the stencil off the cake after airbrushing it i started giggling!

me making the cake... Tongue
16  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / my first duct tape pusre (w/pocky bags!) *pics REALLY fixed...sorta* on: August 30, 2005 02:52:34 PM
okay... here's my first ever duct tape purse. it's not totally complete. i've got to put the grommets for the strap on the sides, but other than that, voila!

on the inside you can see where i put a cell phone and an ink pen pocket. it's not the best in the world, but it makes me happy! plus, it's got pocky bags on it! my fav one is the bottom left with the rabbit and the bamboo shoot shaped pocky! Grin

*i guess this will just have to do.... sigh....
17  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Discussion and Questions / *sniff!* my poor, poor, purse.... on: August 11, 2005 01:07:09 PM
it looks so... plain! i found this in the bottom of my closet and it's aboslutely SCREAMING for some stencilly goodness. only i don't know what to put on it! i need some input on what i should do with it. so i figure why not ask, what would you do?

here's the front w/flap down (it doesn't have that wavy pattern. it's just a crappy image. it looks right in the other pics)

flap up w/cell phone pockets

and the back

here's some thoughts i had on it...
--the cell phone pockets need something <duh!>
--maybe putting something on the strap (which is about 1 1/2" wide)

this may seem like a broadbased thread, but i really have NO ideas for the pusre and i figure i have something to learn from every suggestion! your help is greatly appreciated Grin
18  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / *yay!* my harold & maude shirt :D on: August 10, 2005 09:14:35 AM
okay, so it's just a harold shirt. but i still like it!
i'm not so happy with the heart, but for my second time trying to stencil, i'm fairly happy with it!. it would have been posted on here yesterday, but my cat decided it needed some cat pee embellishments. *grrr...* i can't get too mad at her tho, cause she's so darn cute! well, lemme know what you think of the shirt!
19  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Praise be unto "Bob"! *pic fixed* on: August 01, 2005 07:20:17 PM
here is my first attempt at stenciling a shirt! *yay!* it's the likeness of J.R. "Bob" Dobbs from the Church of the Subgenius.

i used the freezer paper method. it may not be the best in the world, but i'm very pleased with it. please lemme know whatcha think! Cheesy
