11  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Cigar Gloves from knitty.com on: July 16, 2005 05:15:04 PM
It is knitted on 2 circular needles. Which I have never done before. i asked my Mom (very long time knitter) and she has never done a project on 2 circular needles before. Maybe DPN would be easier. I would like to use those too... would we have  to change the  pattern tho?

How did you do that? My boyfriend is a hardcore Beatles fan... I thought it would be a great to make a bedspread with Beatles lyrics on it. You know white with black lettering in different fonts and sizes. I just don't know what the best way to do it is.
Anyway your pillow case rocks!

I haven't got a thing for them yet. I'm game to start whenever. I need about a week to get everything together. But if you wanna hold off until maybe the first of Aug that's cool with me. Maybe we can get more people on the go by then?

I get really bored with making the same one thing too and I hate too much clean up. I want to just relax after supper... not look at a mountain of dishes. I found this great recipe for Slow cooker Fajitas! This is a huge recipe but it can be easily reduced to feed only a few.

6  skinless, boneless chicken breasts

2  each red and green peppers

2  jalapeno peppers or 2 tbsp chopped pickled jalapeno peppers (optional)

1  pkg fajita or taco seasoning mix
3 tbsp all-purpose flour

1 small (about 430 ml) jar chunky salsa

All you do is cut up the chicken and peppers in thin strips. Chop up jalapeno peppers (you don't really need to put this in if you are "spicy shy" the fajitas taste great with or without them)  Add package of fajita mix ( this i found the more you add the spicier the fajitas will be... 1/2 a package is enough but feel free to throw the whole thing in.) Add the flour and the salsa. Mild is  best.  Stir it all up in your slow cooker and leave on high for 4 hours!  Serve in wraps with cheese, sour cream, and anything else you would like. I make rice on the side with mine.

This makes a  lot. I fed a family of 5 with it and we still didn't finish it  off. It freezes really well so make the whole thing and freeze the  leftovers. Nothing is better then food already made. Enjoy it is so good!

A friend of mine is  getting married soon and is making a veil for herself. Does any one have an idea of a nice  veil she can make for herself in a small amount of time?
