1  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: Quilted Dog Bed on: May 18, 2010 06:20:57 PM
I love this bed. Maybe some day I will get around to making something like this for my pup.

That's so awesome! Lucky dog!
Is Rosie a shih tzu? My shih tzu loves to unzip his bed and pull out the insides. I even have to sew the zipper shut!

My shih tzu does the same thing to her bed through the holes in her crate. Crazy girl.

Its true! Finding fabric is the hardest part of the quilting process...imo.
Looks great!
3  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: Stacked coins - my first quilt! on: December 04, 2008 01:27:19 PM
Yeah I've never not quilted the whole thing, but thats what my mom always tells me when I'm tired of quilting and just want to leave the thick borders be.

Oh the wraps were gorgeous. The whole wedding was. Hah the day before you left is way better than the day after you got back. =)

Muahahaa Mrs. Cookie! Its a nice quilt. I would suggest doing more quilting on the border next time though, you don't want to leave such large spaces unquilted or the batting will shift a lot. The colors are really nice, I love the stacked coin pattern.

Very well done! I've been thinking about making one but I haven't even begun to try. Where did you get your instructions? Quilts are a long process, but you get such a rewarding feeling when they are done. You should definitely keep it up.
9  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / For a Mario Party on: November 04, 2008 05:19:10 AM
I went to a party with a bunch of friends dressed as Mario Characters. I know I have no chance in the competition, but I still wanted to share since its the first time I've dressed up for Halloween in ages. I saw the other toadette costume, and mine isn't a whole lot different. My hat is a plastic Halloween candy bowl covered in batting and covered in fabric. I used tape and safety pins for the whole thing, so it could be easily deconstructed (which I did last night). The pigtails are newspaper balls in fabric and rubber bands in between each ball. The vest was made, and the dress was a XXL womens shirt I resized. That is my younger brother in the picture with me.

They look nice! I'm in the process of doing the exact same thing, only I'm just making one baby quilt. Hope my first free motion turns out as nice as yours did.
