1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Ongoing Wish Swap Gallery and Discussion Round 130 (Sept. 2016) on: September 10, 2016 03:13:21 PM
Hoping to join in sometime before the end of the month rolls 'round. Alas, I am in the middle of moving at the moment and with everything packed up in boxes, the two week make & send window is just a wee bit too tight right now.  Undecided

Ah, Smeddly, I'm in love with all your foxey crafts! And Rockingbearranch, That ATC is wonderful. The mixed media/yarn elements are a super addition!

Prompt:  August : Table Tennis
Team: Digital
Medal Event: -
Bonus Points: -
Project Name: PokTowel
Project Link: -
Brief Description: My nephew has recently become quite obsessed with Pokmon. I stitched this up to give him for his 10th birthday. Pikachu is his favourite, and I just lucked out that his name has an "o" I could replace with a Pokball. Smiley

I had a rather difficult time with it --first time embroidering a towel. Each attempt took 90 minutes to stitch out and it took a few attempts to pass quality control (aka my inner critic). I ended up stitching the elements on one piece of towel and patching it on to another one to give it a nice clean back/no embroidery showing through (and because honestly I didn't trust it would stitch out nicely on my last remaining towel). It's one of those cases of "not a 100% happy with it but I think he will love it and I am not willing to torture myself through trying to make yet another one".  Tongue

Roler, that spa looks amazing. So much details! And those bees are too cute for words. I really like how you used buttons for their eyes.

Storer, Fantastic Mickey themed tote. And that Bear hat and its owner are so sweet. Lovin' how you left the little holes in the hat for his ears!!

Rockingbearrach, What a fabulous sock monkey! Making a detachable mertail was a stroke of genius. I've never seen a Mer-Monkey before.
And your food crafts look deeeelicious!

Aww, how nice!  Shocked I just got back from travelling for surgery & came to check in on the Games and saw this... lovely surprise!

So many amazing projects shared while I was away. Love them all. So inspiring to see all the goodness you crafty ninjas come up with.

Storer, Oh so the big time sort of is its own prompt, rather than a bonus?  So you can make anything (you don't need to follow a prompt from the monthly list) and just post it as a big time project? Is that right?  Sorry, bit confused -- I must have read it wrong. Embarrassed

And yay Team Digital!

Yay! I finally finished a couple of projects so I can play along with everyone! Cheesy I have been in sort of lurker mode watching you all post your magnificent projects.

Prompt:  June; A la carte
Team: DiGiTaL
Medal Event: Fabricology
Bonus Points:
Project Name: Lexa Doll
Project Link: --
Brief Description: This is Lexa, a character from The 100. Initially I was going to make Lexa wholly with fabric but ended up giving in to my desire to bling her up. She has fabric elements of course, along with craft foam (her wrist bracers and belt buckles) and various paper craft/scrapbooking elements (her forehead gear and brads on her bracers).
Project Picture:

Prompt:  July; Mount Rushmore
Team: DiGiTaL
Medal Event: Fabricology
Bonus Points:
Project Name: Clarke Doll
Project Link: --
Brief Description: This is Clarke, another character from the Tv show The 100...and she fits the prompt because she has a face! Wink (best.prompt.ever!)
Project Picture:

Hopefully I did everything right. Smiley And now that I've realised I need a bookmark, I'm off to figure out what I could make that will fit one of the prompts! (this craftalong thing seems like it could get addictive quickly!)
8  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Re: Hi! ~Newbie~ on: June 11, 2016 12:53:03 AM
Love these! The ear necklace (Daryl's? Tongue) is my favourite - did you make the colour variations all out of clay or paint them?
That rainbow cloud is just so, so cute, too - love the puffy clouds.

Putting that new clay to good use! Your itty bitty dragons are just lovely, so much personality in each one!
