21  Cinnamon Stick Santa in Winter Holidays by boywonder on: December 04, 2006 02:28:26 PM
My mom has been making these for a few years and this year I hijacked her idea to give to coworkers and friends. It's so easy and costs about....  25 cents.  I sprayed them with a sealer afterwards and used a hot glue gun to insert a small hook in the top. Easy!

the one on the right with the ribbon is the one my mom made

baby ferret arrived last night but spent most of the night in his sleeping bag...must have been a long trip, jet lag gets the best of us!

I managed to coax him out with a promise of hot chocolate with marshmallows and over breakfast he agreed to come to work with me. At work baby ferret oversaw me painting some holiday scenes on the windows.

and look who ended up modelling for his very own spot on the window!

23  Re: Christmas Stocking Swap 2 in The Swap Gallery by boywonder on: November 30, 2006 01:33:57 PM

And... I received today from boywonder! Yay. I was so excited when I saw that big box come over the post office counter Cheesy

So.. he's got pictures, and since there's so much stuff, it's probably better to describe only for now.... (bw: let me know if you end up needing some pics though!)

yup I've got the pictures. I'm glad you enjoyed everything!!

first up the stocking. It's kind of seuss inspired with a fleece side and a cord kind of side.

now for the crafty items.

here we have the record bowl, a cinnamon stick santa ornament, some gift tags and mulling spices (which you can drink if you want but I just like the smell)

here's the painting, the soap (I had a hard time giving away the root beer one!), and the octopus magnets (fun AND educational!)

the sock monkey looking dapper in his plaid scarf.

the tshirt...kind of an inside joke...

and the non crafted items (minus the candy). Some halloween paper, a snowman magnet, santa ornament, and witch figure.

glad you liked everything Psyche! Merry Christmas!

okay...after some delay and issues on my part here are the pictures as promised of the stocking and goodies that Psyche sent.

the stocking is perfect, my favourite colours and I love the argyle inspired design! The goodies are: christmas candies, santa shot glass, a roll of hemp (I have one but it's all knotted so thank you for the new one!), some cool beads, a hemp bracelet, apple cinnamon lip balm, christmas candy canes, and some awesome blue felted soap. I'm glad you included a note to say what this was because I've never seen it and I wouldn't have known what to do with it!

but wait, there's more!

two shirts, inspired by my Wists. I apologize for the dumb look on my face..lol. I wore the bike one to work yesterday and I counted a total of 9 compliments!

Thanks so much for everything and I hope you get your stocking really soon!

26  foray into watercolours in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by boywonder on: October 28, 2006 10:46:40 AM
so recently someone at worked asked me if I would do a painting for a raffle/draw thing and she asked me to come up with some ideas. I've never really done anything in watercolours before so I thought "hey...why not?". These are what I came up with (just as smaller ideas for a larger painting) and she didn't end up picking any of them...just thought I'd post 'em to see what you guys thought..they're not fantastic as I did them rushed and it was my first time using watercolours...now I'm not sure what to do with them..lol
