1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Steampunk Clutch on: June 18, 2019 06:34:35 PM
This was one of the items I crafted for seeuudee in the Make-a-Friend swap. I had the basic idea to do a small bag for my fellow bag-obsessed partner and tried to include elements from a few of her likes. The result is a little bit steampunk, a little bit Newt Scamander/Hufflepuff, but hopefully still versatile enough to not stand out too much! I think my favorite thing besides the monogram (loosely based on Newt's with her initials overlapping) is the belt loops on the back  - which I've been seeing on more bags lately and thought was fun and steampunk utility-belt friendly. Wink All of the fabric and thread was in my stash; the only things I had to buy were some of the findings and leather needles for my machine.

using the belt loops!

And thank you PerfectlyBohemian for some almost-finished progress photos that actually show all the angles Wink:

Thanks for looking!
2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Golden Snitch Collapsible Tote Bag on: June 18, 2019 11:22:03 AM
Made for the Make-a-Friend swap and inspired by those collapsible grocery bags - I had this stretchy gold fabric in my stash and thought a little snitch keychain bag would be fun! Fortunately/unfortunately, I found these amazing Marauder's Map bandanas that I really wanted to use, so this ended up a bit larger than originally intended  Cheesy The wings are satin fused to white glitter felt for a bit of stability.

Thanks for looking!
3  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Spacey Eggs on: May 02, 2019 07:27:01 PM
I threw together some better-late-than-never easter eggs using a retro mama pattern and some scraps from my stash. The spotted one is from space sheet scraps I've been hoarding carefully saving. I added elastic loops to the blue-swirly-glitter ones and two of them have rattles I made for some other kids' toy project years ago (for maximum stash busting!).

4  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Completed Projects / Painted glass mugs (pic heavy) on: April 20, 2019 07:34:38 AM
I ogled at mugs like these on etsy for the longest time before finally trying it out as part of a mermaid-themed gift basket. It's super fiddly work but I was pretty happy with the results! (please excuse the super cluttery progress pictures)

(bonus - the gift baskets the best ones went into)

I kept the first "tester" for myself. The paint is apparently fairly dishwasher-proof and still going strong 2 years later!

5  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Crib sheets from vintage sheets on: April 20, 2019 07:01:11 AM
Probably on the bleeding edge of "reconstructed," but there were some extra steps involved to make the most out of some gorgeous vintage sheets from PerfectlyBohemian for nursery linens! These started out as a twin-sized set with a fitted sheet, flat sheet, and pillowcase. With a little bit of creative patchwork, I was able to get two full sized crib sheets from the flat sheet. They completely transformed my visions for the nursery, too...I had envisioned everything being dark with lots of deep blue and pops of color, but the print on these is space-ey AND light and bright. They make me so happy!

(bonus belly shot - this was right after the sheets were finished)

I also covered a bit from the pillowcase with fusible vinyl and made a wipable changing pad cover. It's not quite "finished" since the edges are just folded under, but the vinyl wrinkles after machine washing (which I try to do now and then) and has to be re-ironed every time. Also, after making...6...crib sheets of various sizes/fabrics (baby was in daycare for a while and needed mini crib sheets, separate post soon), I'm slightly burnt out on elastic for the moment Smiley

6  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Accordion Wallets on: April 06, 2019 11:49:12 AM
~Somewhere~ I have a picture of the entire set I made for our meetup group's mass production swap a couple of years back (which was so much fun!). Unfortunately I haven't been able to locate it, so here are some photos of two of them Smiley

I saw a pattern for this type of wallet on etsy and thought I could figure it out based on the picture. It's a bit of fabric origami and a fun fat quarter project! Everyone got 2 coordinating fabrics. The pockets are a good size for teabags, individually wrapped wipes, cards, etc. Mine was the trial run and I rotated the velcro piece for the rest to make it slightly more adjustable.

7  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Donut Pincushion Ring on: April 06, 2019 11:37:15 AM
Posting of old projects continues! This one was made for StudioANF Smiley (thanks for the pictures! <3)

8  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / granny ripple baby blanket on: April 03, 2019 11:23:47 AM
Done with whatever I could still get of the old Martha Stewart washable wool blend after it was discontinued

9  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Knit and crochet bunny blanket on: April 03, 2019 11:17:56 AM
This was a birthday gift for a friend's baby a while back - something stroller-sized for their daily walks. With pictures from the recipient because I never remember to take them myself Smiley

The main body was knitted up on my USM, bunnies hand-manipulated knit cables with crochet popcorn tails, and a crocheted scallop border.
