1  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Re: Has anyone done Pocket Letters on: July 30, 2016 06:51:28 PM
Anyone got any pics of pocket letters that they have finished?  Do you do each pocket like a at or so a whole page and then cut them?

I've done a few. I did it by filling each individual pockets. I found that since I'm new to it, the whole page doesn't look cohesive. I think next time I do one, I will do a whole page then cut them into 9 pieces.

I got my scrapbook papers from Michael's. I used to have a local scrapbooking place, but it closed down. As far as stamps and tools, I go to either Michael's or Hobby Lobby. I've never purchased scrapbooking supplies online so I wouldn't know about it. Have you tried looking at Craiglist? I know a lot of people list their supplies as they are moving. Maybe you can find something local and somewhat cheap.

By the way, if you are interested, I have a lot of extras. Send me a PM and let me know what kind of things you're are looking for.

It's pretty light as it is actually made of plastic. Just big as it cuts 15" paper but I have taken it with me to a friends.  It has a safety catch to hold the blade in place.

Oh I see. That's not too bad, then. I will put that on my wishlist this year and see how it goes.

I have always wanted to try out some other medium other than the plain ol' paper. Kudos to you for being a good inspiration. It looks cool.

This sounds like fun. What my friends and I do is send a monthly themed postcard size creations. Count me in if you decide to do a swap.

They probably are safer and I do have to admit that I cut myself on this new one but I was being careless.

How heavy is the one you have right now? I know the giant blade can get pretty heavy. Do you think it's portable as far as taking it with you to go visit a friend's house or things like that?

geekgirl1000100, you are awesome for posting the links. I think I'll try that style. I always thought the one that slides back and forth was more safe than the guillotine style. I guess there's always pros and cons. Smiley

Wow. What a fantastic idea! Can I borrow that idea? Smiley I've been coloring like crazy and trying to figure out what to do with all the papers I've colored.

I had a Pro Craft paper cutter tool that I got rid of. I have had it for about 6 years and finally was fed up with the way it "shreds" the paper a little when I cut with it.

Then I got a Fiskars paper cutter. Same size, different decorations and all that. At first, it was so smooth. It cut papers like cutting butter. Then, after a week of usage, it started "shredding" the edges of the paper like my old cutter did. I thought it was the blades at first. Then I looked closer and it's actually the plastic slit that goes across the cutter that causes it. It looks like the blades cut into it and eventually, it wears off.

What type of cutting tools that you use? I do not  want to purchase a new cutter every 2 weeks. It seems like a non-green, non-eco-friendly way to scrapbook.
