1  Dirigible Plum Drawstring Pouch in Crochet: Completed Projects by boggarts on: February 06, 2016 07:13:04 PM

I've crocheted some dirigible plums from Harry Potter and turned them into pouches. I'd originally meant to make these for Halloween, but I was obviously many months late. Wink I'll have them ready for this year, though. I designed the pouch to be the right size to hold a kid-friendly portion of sweets (so basically it's big enough to hold a decent amount but not so big that a whole bag of sugar will fit in it). I'm pretty happy with how they turned out, though I think I'll use some strong cord for the drawstring as the yarn is pulling a bit thin.

I've included the pattern I used in case anyone's interested. If something doesn't make sense please let me know and I'll rewrite it.

Pattern

I used a 3.5mm hook and DK yarn, but I doubt the overall shape will be affected if you use something different. The rounds all begin with ch 1 and finish with a sl st.

Using orange yarn, ch 2 (or use the magic ring method).
1: 3 sc in 2nd ch from hook.
2-4: sc in each st. (3)
5: sc, inc, sc. (4)
6: sc in each st. (4)
7: sc, inc, sc, inc. (6)
8-13: sc in each st. (6)
14: *sc, inc* around. (9)
15-17: sc in each st. (9)
18: *sc in next 2 sts, inc* around. (12)
19: sc in each st. (12)
20: *sc in next 3 sts, inc* around. (15)
21: *sc in next 3 sts, inc* around. (18)
22: *sc in next 4 sts, inc* around. (21)
23: *sc in next 5 sts, inc* around. (24)
24: sc in each st. (24)
25: *sc in next 4 sts, inc* around. (28)
26: *sc in next 6 sts, inc* around. (32)
27-33: sc in each st. (32)
Change to green yarn.
1: *sc, ch 2, sk 2 sts* around.
2: *sl into next ch 2 space, ch 7, sc back down (6 sc), sl into same ch 2 space* around.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
To make the drawstring, either chain the desired length (I chained 45) with yarn or cut some sturdy string to the desired length. Weave it in and out of the ch 2 spaces.

...And you're done!  Cheesy

As always, if you share this pattern please link back to this forum post or the pattern's Ravelry page. Thank you!
