1  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: Ideas for a Broken Blender? on: January 05, 2008 07:38:30 PM
i actually gutted the insides of the bottom of a blender, then broke out the bottom of the pitcher. i then installed a  lamp kit, and strung the cord out of the bottom. i love it! if you don't want to go the lamp kit route, then you can also use tube lights or christmas lights the same way.

oh, i could have so used something like that for my poison ivy costume! I love the color. you could take an embroidery needle and make a hole on each side to tie elastic to. the hole wouldn't be too big or noticeable at all. or, you could glue a really pretty green ribbon on the inside sides and just tie it.

i love the wings! you could always maybe make some smaller stars and put them where the spillage occurred to distract from the spill spot.

How about normal shoes/boots with green socks over the top like in these posts...

Have u sorted out your face piece yet? I used artificial leaves and glued them to the outer edge of my eyebrow, extending upwards to my temple. Eyelash glue worked great, just be careful not to go too near to your eye!!

thanks for the info! the face piece....i haven't exactly sorted out yet. i know how i want them to look, just not how to do it.

I am going as Poison Ivy this year, and have everything covered but the boots. My budget is limited, and I prefer to make instead of buy. I haven't found anything at the thrift shops to work with.....any ideas? Thanks!
