222  Re: TUTORIAL: Make a Lined Zippered Pouch in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by cyndiq on: December 17, 2005 08:25:56 AM
This is my first post. I am so glad I found this site and this great tutorial. Here are some pouches I made. I don't think I have the zipper part down completely. I am not happy with the way the top looks at the ends of the zipper. One side is always kind of rounded. Any tips would be appreciated.

I use a wooden tool and run it along the seams and push out all the corners. just ensure that the seams are facing the lining when you sew around the whole piece. than use the tool to poke out the corners.
So here are  some of my pouches i have given away this xmas....

the last one was for my one tiny thing swap, about 4 inches. fleur de lys design. fancy zipper pull i beaded myself.
cheers cyndiq

Hi everyone i recieved another package today. but i lost the pic of jehnaiers, thought i had downloaded onto pc, so will take it again.
Today....i got home from shopping to a wonderful suprise (the whole family loves suprises and were all waiting for me to open it)

From ralph i got this lovely necklace, i give so much jewellery away to friends and to sell,  i rarely keep for myself so it was a wonderful gift, i put it on straight away and wore it to a xmas party. It was in a lovely decoupage gift box. She also sent a recycled teabag bookmark, very different. i dont drink tea so something different i wouldnt have thought to make! I must get into some reycled stuff one of thes days! i do love to save stuff for the kindy collages etc.

Thankyou Ralph,  i really liked your suprises and that card is gorgeous, i had admired some made with sewing on fabric and beads and ribbon, but never tried it yet, so i loved getting it and appreciate all the work. it is going into my keepsake box after xmas is finished, i love to save cards. sorry the pic is not so good, it is a lovely card. please post better pics if you have them.

Well I got mine posted so I hope they all get there safely.
This is fun and it has certainly brought a festive feel to xmas.
cheers cyndiq

hi everyone, Caylie got her parcel today, super fast post!
I made her this bag. (my first attempt at shabbychic, bear with me lol), I sort of went overboard on the bag, quilted, embroidered etc.
A soft green and dainty pink and gold floral. Caylie likes green and pink and naturals so i hope these were sort of right and shabbychic enough.
The bag:

Inside I put a special label, made lots of pockets (6).
2 of the suprises - a phone case and eyeglass case with her name. I used faux pink suede

ok got soem other pics just will upload.

230  troll doll placemat bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by cyndiq on: August 11, 2005 07:02:30 AM
GrinHi everyone, i made this bag from a placemat, embroidered the troll dolls on either side for my MIL who collects them since her kids give them to her! lol and now the grandkids!

The placemat was really a bit big so cut it down and made the straps etc from the sides. It was  pretty thick to sew and  I had to watch it sewing in the handles. I forgot pockets and have yet to add the button to close but will do so tomorrow and post.

Comments please, cheers cyndi
