21  my lovely summertime tunic in Knitting: Completed Projects by Bourgeois on: August 30, 2007 01:20:11 PM
This is my first knitted shirt of any kind.  I chose this pattern because it was cute and oh so easy.  I finished this a couple of months ago but I was so busy planning my wedding I hadn't gotten around to posting it.

Interweave Knits, Summer 2007: Summertime Tunic

Debbie Bliss' Cathay yarn in Sage.  It's a soft cotton/silk blend, lovely indeed.

weird side shot.

This was mostly knit in the round until the split for the arms.  And ribbon is used as straps in a drawstring fashion.  I had hoped that the ribbed waist would be more defined, but I will admit that I haven't blocked it (or anything else ever for that matter).  But I think I'm going to have to try it out to see if I can get a better shape.  I don't like how it kinda hangs there.  But overall, I'm very happy with my first shirt attempt.  And now I'm brave enough to try something with sleeves!

22  Re: Sweat Shoppe Swap Round 5 Gallery - Shop the Sweat Shoppe! in The Swap Gallery by Bourgeois on: November 21, 2006 06:26:42 PM
Okay, i have to say that I spent the weekend studying my butt off for my registration exam to become a Register Dietitian, stressful.  I took the exam today and PASSED!!!!
So now I can post all the wonderful items I have received:
these are the cutest leather bird necklaces from La_Chrystelle!  I have already worn one out and received compliments from strangers!  so cute!

awesome travel container from serialcrafter.  I totally get to use this tomorrow!  And I think I may always use it, because I'm obsessed with organizers.

also I am in love with this fabric.

and Sock Yarn from tenrec!!  I'm in a sock phase now obviously.  I think I'm going to try a fancy sock pattern with this beautiful yarn which she calls 'Christmas Morning'

This has been an amazing swap for me!  Oh and the progress on my sock from knitwit's yarn:
This is my first time knitting a sock with a heel, so I'm way proud of myself Smiley

I've received some amazing hand-dyed yarn from knitwit!  I have been wanting to make some socks so bad!  The yarn is so soft and yummy, it reminds me of candy.

As soon as I got it, I got to work getting it into ball form.  Then cast on!  I will include a picture of my progress later; it is knitting into a very neat pattern.

Thanks so much knitwit, you are awesome!!!

I received from kiki*eks today!  A package marked 1 of 2, how exciting.  So, I quickly took pictures so I could wear/use the items!

Here's a pretty vinyl makeup bag pouch (front & back):

It has a green zipper, which I really like for some reason.  I'm not sure what I'm going to put in it, makeup or craft supplies.  It will definately be useful (I have stuff all over the living room as we speak)

Here are some neat fall themed earrings, which I really like alot.

And she sent this lovely necklace, which I was super excited about.  After I saw the one she sent cornflakegirly, I really wanted one too!    Also I immediately put the necklace on after taking pictures!

Thanks so much kiki*eks, love it all!

Okay Kiki*eks received a package from me a week ago or so and I'm posting some pics of what I sent.

Fingerless gloves, a felt pouch, flower brooches, necktie wallet, catnip toys, and some coasters made on a Love & Money loom

She wisted some fingerless gloves, and so I knitted some up.

Here is a close up of the embroidered pouch (hope she doesn't mind that i'm posting her real name) and the felt flower brooches.

I had lots of fun making these goodies!

27  Re: Shop my sweat shoppe swap (SSS round 5)~now 'till Oct 27 in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by Bourgeois on: October 26, 2006 08:44:11 AM
My shoppe will include:

matching necktie wallet & belt (not the one shown)

I will take general color requests.

4 Felted Flower Brooches

Not necessarily ones shown, will be made when ordered!!

4 Flower Magnets ... same idea but magnet instead of a pin

Feltie Pouches (again similar to ones shown)
will be made to order, and I will take some color requests.  These will be at the mercy of what colors I have available.

I'm getting soo excited!

28  floral Crewel design on jeans in Needlework: Completed Projects by Bourgeois on: October 07, 2006 08:04:10 AM

Not the best quality picture, but I love these jeans again!  They are old, very comfy jeans that have a hole in one knee.  I got this design out of a 70's crewel book I have.  And then I picked out random lovely colors that I like.
I think I may attempt to embroider across the torn knee next.  I don't know if that's such a good idea...

29  Chuihwahwah cardigan! in Knitting: Completed Projects by Bourgeois on: January 26, 2006 01:28:56 PM
Okay so let me begin by saying I have NO IDEA how to spell chuihwahha, and I don't care to look it up, haha.  I have friends who have a little doggie named Felina.  She is tiny and cute and the only chuihwaha I've ever liked.  My friend had a hard time finding a sweater to fit the tiny dog so she requested this design.

The long arm looking parts actually velcro under Felina's tummy.  The long neck strip velcros around her neck and has a button on the outside for cute-ness.  The whole design was measured to fit her exactly.

If I were to do this project again;  I would make the long parts that go around the tummy wider (for more warmth).  I need to get a pic of Felina wearing it!  I haven't even seen her wear it yet.

Comments are welcome!

30  Purdy Crewel Embroidery in Needlework: Completed Projects by Bourgeois on: January 26, 2006 01:17:00 PM

I did this fun design on a green shirt that I liked, but it was kinda boring.  I based the design on a flower in a 70's crewel embroidery book.  I love the bright random colors, I wear it all the time.
