1  UNITED STATES / Texas / Re: favorite TX thrift stores? on: October 26, 2006 06:16:30 AM
I really like the New Beginnings Resale Shop in Garland off of Buckingham as well as Texas Thrift which is off of Walnut.  There of course there is Thrift City 2 off of First St. and then the Salvation Army Thrift Store off of Garland Rd.  All of these are within about 5 miles of me and I love them each.  I do like the Goodwill on Shiloh and Buckingham because it gets a lot of Target things and I love Target.  In fact, yesterday I got a blanket there that my hubby and I had registered for last spring to get for our wedding ($60 at Target) and I only paid $14.99.  I was doing a happy dance of course.

Hi, I live in North Garland.  I'm not a knitter but I have plenty of knitting stuff.  I just need to be taught to knit I guess.  Wink

I am a quilter, a scrapbooker, a crafty godess.... LOL!

I will be out of town the first weekend in November (Quilt Show in Houston) but would love to do something after the first of the year.

I think I am going to wait until Round 5 because I would really like to participate but just can't right now.

I was thinking the same thing but pinning it in instead that way you could take it out for when you want to wear it around your hubby.  Wink
5  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Discussion and Questions / Re: Gauchos on: September 29, 2006 10:34:12 PM
I had to wear my gauchos for the last month every day because I had a boot on my foot and that was basically the only thing to wear to work that would fit over it and I will say that I did gain some weight and I attain part of it for not being able to exercise but also because those gauchos are so dang comfy I didn't feel if things were shifting.

The jeans that I finally put on yesterday were a little snug.  I used to love jeans and I need to lose the weight to love them again.

That turned out really well.  You did a great job.  Can't wait to see the dress.
7  Texas / Texas: North Central / Re: Dallas Thrift Stores on: September 29, 2006 10:25:13 PM
I have tried thriftshopper.com and a lot of the information is outdated and there are a lot more stores that aren't listed.  Do you rely on others to help you update it or what?

I will be in Houston on November 3-5 if you wouldn't mind keeping it until then.
9  Texas / Texas: Coastal / Re: Quilt festival in houston? on: September 29, 2006 10:22:35 PM
It's a Quilt Show that offers vendors, classes, marketplace, etc.  I will be there for Saturday and Sunday.  The hubby and I are spending our first anniversary in Houston at the IQF!  Smiley

Vendors normally sell products at the fair not supplies.
