1  HOME SWEET HOME / Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Discussion and Questions / Re: Help with an ungodly large tire. Any ideas? on: November 19, 2006 07:32:50 PM
Wow! I had no idea that people were still responding to this post! Thanks for everyone's great ideas! I especially like the pond idea and if our situation in tis house was a little more permanent I would definitely do that one^_^

The plants did fairly well but since we don't get much sun in the backyard they ended up being very long and spindly without much fruit.  This last year we decided to set up a proper garden in a sunnier area of the yard and planted a nice, low-light fescue in the tire.  It was a great place to sit and was also used as a table.  My husband would cut the grass with scissors since we couldn't mow the tire.  Ha!

Pshew...I'm excited about being able to start on some swaps after my year long engagement hiatus. We had a great time at the wedding and we received tons of complements on all the DIY stuff! Yay...guests really do notice!
Here's just a few of my DIY projects.

Our wedding invites  (letter press)

Thank you cards (print gocco)

Rehearsal Dinner Invites (staples copy center ^_^)

Program (home laser printer...see how the "quality" of printing goes down as time goes by?)

Sandalwood fan (a huge hit with warm ladies and guys who wanted to be ninjas. letter press tag)

Buttons (tags were printed at staples, buttons constructed by oneinchround.com)

Table Numbers (print gocco and stencil on wood)

Seating Chart Poster (once again from staples copy center... one of my bridesmaids works there)

Family tree memory waall thing (plywood with stenciled "wall paper", moulding, ribbons and dollar store frames. It got a little beat up after the wedding before  I could get a pic)

Parents and grandparents wedding pics, our engagement pics and two childhood pics.

Screenprinted shirts

groomsmen shirt

bridesmaid shirt

My first garter attempt...don't make fun!

Thanks for looking!

LOL We were!  I haven't done a swap since I've been engaged...so sad.
Thanks again guys!  If I'm on the ball then hopefully I'll have more to post after the weekend.

Thanks guys!
Which bird image are you asking about?  The sparrow that's on the fan tag is from an online clipart site.  I'll see if I can find the link but if not I could email the .BMP to you (yup it was bitmap Tongue)  The smaller birds (the one on the invite) is from the printhouse that letter pressed them since the original (the ones on the save the dates) was too pixely.  I'm not sure I still have the file but I can check. Pshew...was that confusing enough?
