1  Re: Ongoing Wish Swap Gallery & Discussion Rounds 119, 120, 121 in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by GeneralJinjur on: January 25, 2016 12:18:16 PM
Treemoon sent me a lovely hoopla. It is my very first hoopla!

She also sent some cards. They are so sweet! I love the textural elements and mixed media! (The one on the bottom had a nice note and the others are blank for me to use!) Here they are:

And here's the main attraction: the hoopla!

It has a lovely nautical theme. I asked for mermaids or cephalopods and I got both! And some other sea-creature friends for them!

The layout kind of reminds me a bit of a victorian style embroidery, but it has a more sassy style and subject matter. And of course cute and betentacled sea creatures. AKA things I love all at once! And i really like the many, many french knots scattered throughout. At the top is a really amazing squid I would like to draw your attention to.

Here is a closeup of the mermaids. One has a seal friend and the other has a fish friend.

Here's a closeup of the mermaid with the seal friend, because I can:

Here is a closeup of the octopus. Look at those suckers!

Thank you, Treemoon for sending me such a beautiful hoopla. I am so proud to have this for my first hoopla!

Here is my fabulous package from anna.wahnsinn! She really went all-out!

First here is a group shot. On the left are some cupcake earrings! The wrapper and the frosting are made from bead caps. They are just what I wanted. I have been coveting this type of beading and now I have my very own! So happy! I wore them the other day (after photos) and felt super cute.

In the middle are a set of stitch markers! They are more perfect than I could have imagined. I am really impressed by the attractiveness and functionality of the hand-stamped discs noting mm and the colors are so pretty. They are just overall really pleasing and I can't wait to use them. I actually had to restrain myself from just popping them onto various projects until pictures!

On the right is a pair of zipper earrings with dropped pearls. She made them for my mom! Mom said that they were perfect and that she was so, so happy! She also said that they look professional and that anna.wahnsinn is very skilled Grin.

Here is a closeup of one of the stitch markers:

Thank you for such a wonderful swap package, anna.wahnsinn! We really enjoyed and appreciated your creations!

3  Re: Back to Hogwarts Round 6 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by GeneralJinjur on: October 11, 2015 01:31:18 PM
Hi everyone,

I'm posting the awesome things that Badwolf sent me!

On the outside of the box:

What came out of the box first were these fabulous yummies and stickers:

the card is also in the shot because it is so pretty!

And now on to all the lovely things Badwolf made for me!

A large Ravenclaw tote bag:

The mascot on the front looks like a stencil. The bag is very sturdy and I love the pattern!

A mini witch hat:

I love this hat so much. It is so wee and just perches on my head adorably. I love the sewing themed charms. I wasn't sure what I was going to be for Halloween this year but now I think I will be a stitch witch!

Closeup of the charms:

Luna earrings:

There may have been some squealing involved when I opened these. I loooveee them!!!

Ravenclaw necklace:

I really like how elegant it is! SUPER cute!

Rememberall ornament:

Straight off my pinterest! I will be displaying it year round.

Here it is all together:

Thank you for being my partner Badwolf! This was a great first swap for me!

4  Retro Recipe Cards in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by GeneralJinjur on: August 21, 2015 11:02:48 PM
I made these cute recipe cards as a gift for a young person who isnt a very advanced cooker.

They are mostly simple recipes that I have successfully cooked with. I did put in a more advanced recipe of their favorite food to work up to, as inspiration  Wink. Its mostly finger food one might take to a gathering, like cookies and crostini, because that is what they are most interested in right now.

I made these in my computer. I got the images of food from The Graphic Fairy. The aged paper also comes from there. I found the polka dot pattern here. The patterns behind the paper come from the software I used. Unfortunately these patterns didnt print particularly gracefully on some of the cards, so next time I will be using more digital scrapbook paper instead.

5  Decoupaged Bottle Cap Earrings in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by GeneralJinjur on: August 21, 2015 10:50:10 PM
I made these years ago, but they are still in good condition and remain a staple in my wardrobe. They are made from bottle caps that I painted and then decoupaged paper on. The paper is origami paper. I sealed with good old mod podge.

I made a lot of these earrings. These are the ones that I kept for myself.

6  Oxidation Necklace and Earrings Set in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by GeneralJinjur on: August 21, 2015 10:30:10 PM
The green beads in this necklace remind me of oxidized copper, so that is what I named this necklace.

I made this set for my mom. She liked it very much. When we went on a two-week trip it was the only piece of jewelry she brought.

7  Amigurumi Animal Friends in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by GeneralJinjur on: August 20, 2015 11:06:09 PM
Here are some crocheted animals that I have made in the past.

I made this squid for my mother using the amigurumi bobtail squid pattern provided by vangoghcafe right here on Craftster.

I made this squirrel for a friend. I freehanded it. I love how roly poly it is.

The limbs and ears are bobbles. I used cotton yarn for the body and the same cotton yarn plus an acrylic with a touch of mohair for the tail, which came out very soft and fluffy.

8  Stormy Hat and Scarf Set in Crochet: Completed Projects by GeneralJinjur on: August 18, 2015 09:17:57 PM
I made this scarf and hat set as a birthday gift for a friend.

I used a mooglyblog pattern for the hat and this pattern for the scarf. I was very pleased with the scarf. It worked up quickly and looks very nice for how easy it is. The hat had less drape than I was expecting, but did have a very interesting texture due to the placement of front post double crochet stitches.

I wish I had more of the yarn to use in a different project. Even though it was acrylic, it was incredibly soft and seemed like it would wear gracefully.

9  Crocheted Tree Trunks and Mr. Pig in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by GeneralJinjur on: August 16, 2015 06:34:43 PM
I made Tree Trunks and Mr. Pig from Adventure Time!  Tree Trunks is a little elephant who loves to bake apple pies. Mr. Pig is her boyfriend and then her husband.  I used LucyRavenscars Incy Wincy Elephant pattern and her Little Lucky Pig pattern.

Here they are having a picnic together.

Here are Tree Trunks and Mr. Pig getting married.

Tree Trunks wedding gown is modeled after the gown she wears in the wedding episode. It is very long and there are no holes for her feet! I wrapped a scrap of lace around her body and found that it was pretty close to what is depicted in the episode.

I made these two as a gift for a fan of Adventure Time. They were well received!
