1  Re: I Love Lucy (but not THAT Lucy!) in Needlework: Completed Projects by bluecat158 on: January 15, 2013 12:35:12 PM
I'm late to the party (story of my life) - but I LOVE your Lucy!  We visited in November after the storms on a donation run and we visited Lucy.  Her nails were blue at the time   Cheesy  Hubby gave me a Lucy charm for my Pandora bracelet for Christmas, I became soooooooo obsessed with her!

I wish I found this last year!  This is how I did the flowers for my wedding bouquet.  Such an easy concept for something that looks so unique at the end!  Great tute - I was lucky I was drinking water when I did my first experiment - lit the fabric on fire lol

this is one of the bridesmaids bouquets:

For my bouquet, I used buttons from my grandmother's stash so that part of her was with me when I got hitched Smiley

4  Re: Knifty Knitter? - FO's in Knitting: Discussion and Questions by bluecat158 on: January 04, 2007 09:15:50 PM
here's two FO's I made as Christmas presents...

A scarf for my niece Ani (self-designed pattern based on a scarf I saw on vacation in Niagara Falls Canada)...

Close-up on the leaf design...

and Ani modelling her gift...

A dinosaur sweater for my nephew Grayson (pattern from http://marniemaclean.com/patterns/Dragon/index.html)...

And Grayson in his sweater...

the scarf was made on the purple KK loom - double knit, the sweater was made on a loom I made with my father when I became addicted to loom knitting  Grin

so i finished the project that required the russian joining for different colors.  easier than i thought.

Marking on the blanket yarn approximately where the last chain will end

Russian Joining blanket yarn (white) with edging yarn (pink)

The joined yarns

i did the Russian Joining again when switching from the pink back to the white for the edging.

ok, so maby not so itty bitty, as it's made for a 12 month old, but itty bitty nonetheless.  used pattern from bernat "sweet baby hoodie:"  http://www.bernat.com/pattern.php?PID=1390

close-up of edging and buttons (buttons found at walmart, two for $1.97!)

made to go along with a baby blanket here: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=119431.0

wow, thanks so much for all of the wonderful compliments!  the wedding was beautiful & i had a great time.  a few jaws dropped too Wink  although it's not the greatest pic (whoever decided to sit the bride & groom in front of a window on a bright day - the table where many photos will be taken at - should have been slapped), here it is anyways.

New Bride Megan, me, & New Hubby Rich

also crocheted the shrug (mainly so i wouldn't freak everyone out with the scar across my right shoulder - i'm used to it, but not everyone else is) following microgirl's tute: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=35101.0 and crocheted a bag too: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=105540.0  "Fit to be Tied" from The Happy Hooker.

again i appreciate all the comments, thanks so much!

10  Hooray for $2.97 Walmart sheets! in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by bluecat158 on: July 06, 2006 03:24:21 PM
Further proof that bluecat shouldn't go wandering in the Walmart craft department alone at 11:30 at night...

so i found the pattern, New Look 6557, and figured i'd get around to making it someday.  then inspiration struck me passing the bedding.  picked up a twin sized-flat sheet, turned around, and picked up some bias tape, thread, and a zipper back in crafts.  took a few days (i work second shift and my neighbors get cranky when i drag out the sewing machine at 1 AM) but i'm happy with it.  will be wearing to a wedding this weekend.

Full dress (with Mom in the upper left corner)

Bottom hem

i don't recommend playing with zippers at 3 AM.  i had to re-install it about 3 times.

Edit: because I can't spell and there's no such thing as a cfart department at walmart  Roll Eyes
