1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / quick gift for cowokers/acquaintances on: December 20, 2005 10:56:02 PM
homemade hot chocolate mix!
a friend and i spent our day making the best possible mix and we think we've got it.

this makes a biggg bowl full
1 small box confectioners sugar
1 box of dry nonfat milk (5 cups)
1/2 cup of nondairy creamer
and lastly about a cup and a half of cocoa powder.

- we ended up guestimating all the measurements, and did it by taste (i think thats the best way to do it)... 3 heaping tablespoons, some hot water, and milk later, we were in love.

it takes about five minutes to mix everything up, and then it's just deciding on some packaging. Smiley

we're wrapping them up in these cute little bottles, and tying ribbons and adding handdipped chocolate pretzels with christmas colored sprinkles... i'll post pictures tomorrow if anyone is interested

happy holidays!

3  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / acrylic? perspex? on: September 19, 2005 01:21:47 PM
i've been browsing around .. and sites like tattydevine.com and giantjewels.com... hand carve acrylic and perspex.. the stuff they make is AWESOME.. i was wondering if anyone knew how one goes about doing this kinda stuff. shrinky dinks is probably the easiest method to recreate the look, but i'm really interested in the real thing. thanks!
4  New York / New York: Central / syracuse: westcott street fair on: July 24, 2005 10:37:28 AM
i was born and raised in nyc and fairly accustomed to street fairs and the like... however, i attend syracuse university.. and just found out about the westcott street fair- i've never been to it but im thinking about participating in it- selling my handmade jewelry...

so i guess my questions are- what's it like if you've been to it? is it worth putting in an application if i make jewelry?.. as well as your thoughts and opinions if you've participated in it?

thanks.. i know this is kind of a long shot but i figured it's worth asking, right? Smiley
