21  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Blamey's hat on: December 29, 2006 07:42:15 PM
Jealous of my black cat hat, my friend Blamey insisted I make her a lavender one for Christmas.

I made matching mittens, since she plans to take them on a ski trip.

I know she liked it, because she is not usually so eager to have her picture taken. (And she knows this pictures going to end up on my blog!)
22  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Lace Scarf on: December 27, 2006 08:44:39 PM
Here is Arches & Columns, ready to block atop my dryer.

The light is apparently not very good in my laundry room. The color is actually a grey-green.

I knit tons of scarves this Christmas. They're all posted on my blog, if you'd like to see.
23  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Dreaming of a White Sweater on: December 27, 2006 08:30:09 PM
Finally finished! I knit the whole body in less time than it took me to knit the arms. Sheesh!

It's a Very Modified Boobholder. Another pic and details on my blog.

24  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Christmas Stocking (somewhat img heavy) on: December 17, 2006 08:20:18 PM
Due to a long-standing feud with my dad, my bro not only doesn't have any family pictures, but he doesn't have his childhood stocking.  Cry

So, for Christmas, I made him this stocking from the 2005 Knitting Pattern A Day Calendar. (Except I did it in red instead of fisherman, because I like the red better for Christmas.)

Detail of the cabling, which is on both sides:

And then, I dug through all my old photos and got about 50 family pix... us as kids, our parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews... and I made copies of them to put in this frame/album. The plaque on the front says "Family."

(The picture on the front is my 3 bros and me, circa 1968. He is the little one.)  Shocked

When I was done, I added a little treat... just like Santa used to leave.

This goes into the express mail tomorrow, so hopefully he will get it by Christmas.
25  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Heroic Phone on: October 29, 2006 06:35:50 PM
In keeping with my Batman fixation, may I present...

The Batphone.

There's another pic, for size reference, on my blog. Check it out!
26  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Calla! on: September 14, 2006 04:09:50 PM
I finally seamed my Calla.

Too bad summer is over. Oh well, I wore it to work today, under my jacket. More pix and anecdotal details on my blog.
27  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Knitted chain mail? on: August 15, 2006 03:19:22 PM
This year we decided to dress up for GenCon. Naturally, I had to incorporate knitting into the mix. Luckily, I remembered seeing a pattern online for stage chain mail, which happened to be knitted. (You see where I'm going with this?)

Though there are some who make chain mail out of actual metal (and some of those look pretty fantastic!), this was very light to wear.

Details are on my blog, including some pix of the construction of the chainmail.
28  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / My Aqua Shell on: June 25, 2006 01:49:29 PM
Finally! A finished object! I've been such a slacker lately, jumping from project to project and never finishing anything.

But here is living proof that I CAN, in fact, knit something start to finish.

29  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Dayflower Scarf and Feather Hat on: March 31, 2006 06:21:25 AM
Here's a scarf and hat I completed recently. The scarf is Dayflower, which I've wanted to try for a while. The hat is from the Pattern-A-Day Calendar.

30  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / @#$%!!!! Look what happened!!! on: March 21, 2006 12:46:28 PM
I made this tablecloth for my mom for Christmas about 21 years ago. It took me 6 months. (My table is just small. It's very large and has a lot of pattern on it.)

After she died, I had to fight the relatives to get it back. I have used it over a solid color tablecloth at every Christmas dinner since then... except this last one. It disappeared sometime during the year and I didn't notice because I only use it at Christmas.

So, I found it today. And look!!!!

Oh, Jeez! I don't even remember where I got this pattern! How can I fix this?   Huh  Cry
