Oh, nice thinking! I will try that. Thanks!

That's what I was afraid of. Sad

I had the idea of maybe adhering some other vinyl to the existing vinyl... if there was some way to do that.

Sigh. I may just have to abandon this idea.

I have a couple of diner-style booths that are in really good shape, but the colors are all wrong. I'm pretty sure I can refinish the table top, but I don't know what to do about the seat backs.

They are vinyl cushioned seatbacks. I don't mind the vinyl, but I want to change the color.

Is there some way to cover them? An iron on fabric, maybe? A paint or dye? Would that even work? Has anyone done anything like this?

Sure! These are a couple I took when I finished. I'll be taking some better shots to go with the charts soon.

Thanks, everyone!

@skittlebub, yes and no to the pattern. I did create 5 graphed pages, but then I ended up adjusting some of them more than a little as I knit. It's knitted from the long side, since I tried knitting from end to end and the characters just didn't look right.

All the charts are hand drawn and I'm trying to recreate them in an electronic document so I can post them.

Thanks! It was a fun knit (except for all the bobbins hanging off the back of that thing as I was knitting! Whew!) and he really loved it.

Daughter's BF loves Super Mario Brothers. So I made him a Mario scarf for Christmas.

This is worsted weight yarn, with a plain black back, so it's super warm.
