1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Repair for Coach bag on: June 23, 2006 07:27:59 AM
My cat likes to eat purses.  Luckilly he's only gotten to my cheap ones, but I have a really nice coach bag that I saved up for and I accidently left it within kitty reach last night and came home to a mangled strap.  I cried for about half an hour and then calmed down.  I thought I would be able to order a replacement strap from coach but they said not for my specific bag.  Does anyone have an idea of how I could fix this?
2  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / L.A.M.B Gwen Stefani inspired hat, help with pattern on: June 08, 2006 11:45:57 AM
i have been wanting one of these hats for ages, have seen it on celebs like Kiera Knightley and Gwen Stefani but could never find a picture.  I finally found one that Gwen makes for L.A.M.B. here goes

I am a knitter just new to crocheting, but I really want to make this hat!  To me it just looks like a tube, but I have no idea how to do that with crocheting.  For example, with knitting you would start at the widest part of the hat and move to the top, but I think with crocheting you would start from the top and work down.  Any tips?
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / snuggles project on: March 24, 2006 01:37:57 PM
For everyone who loves to knit AND loves animals, i recently stumbled across this organization

you can make knitted (or crocheted or sewn) blankets that are given to animals in shelters, so they have somewhere warm and soft to sit/sleep on in their cages.  the website has a list of shelters that accept blankets and gives directions about what size they need and how to donate.

5  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Help me find a pattern for these, I'm too poor to buy them! on: November 07, 2005 08:09:01 PM
I am really liking the new seventies looking vesty type things that are getting popular.  I am a pretty accomplished knitter, but I am not comfortable making up my own patterns, so can anyone help me find a pattern for something like these?

7  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Help me! I need an idea for a birthday present! on: May 07, 2004 10:35:56 AM
My older brother is turning 22 pretty soon and I have no clue what to get him for his birthday.  I am seriously short on funds so I want to make him something, but I have noooo idea!  He's gay, really into music (classical if that makes a difference) and he is an anthropology major.  I know that probably doesn't help, but if any of you have any ideas, please let me know!!
8  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / food processor on: April 13, 2004 03:35:18 PM
I already have a tiny food processor for chopping nuts and stuff like that, but I want to buy a big one (will hold at least 5 cups) that is pretty powerful.  Any suggestions on brands or tips on buying one?  I want to find one for under $50 if possible.
9  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / How it All Vegan and other cookbooks on: April 12, 2004 12:39:15 PM
I recently got the How it All Vegan cookbook and I absolutely love it!  I've made several things from it already and everything has been delicious.  I even made tofu jerky and believe it or not it is soooo good and tastes like real jerky.  I ordered Garden of Vegan, the second How it all vegan book so hopefully that one is just as good.  Anyone have any other good cookbook recomendations?
