221  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Re: Ever feel like your craftin' for everyone else! on: July 05, 2005 11:32:25 AM
I know exactly how you feel.Whenever they find out you made it they immediatley say ooh make me one. I'd love to if they'll use it, but my friend always asks for stuff and never uses it but i feel bad saying no. I made her a purse after she asked me   about 15 times and she'll never carry it because she has a stupid louis vuitton. Ask me and ill say who cares, there's so many knockoffs its not worth the money to have a real one because noone will believe you that its real. Personally my purse is way cuter than the LV. and the others i have made it for carry it everyday so i know it's not just me lovin it.
222  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Knitting Vs. Crochet: Which would you recommend? on: July 05, 2005 09:22:04 AM
I personally don't like to knit, but i am not very good at it either. I think crochet is a lot easier and there is a lot more to learn faster. If you look at some of the patterns it is usually only a double crochet and a slip stich. I think I'm going to post a tutorial sometime soon with instructions

I work at a concession stand with a couple of my friends and we have a million of them, so wen it gets slow and nobody is at the counter we have been crocheting them together and have designed a prom dress made entirely of junk. The twist tie corset and the polka dot bread sack ruffled skirt. It is so cute and colorful. (the twist ties are all yellow red blue green and white, but the bread sacks are yellow backgroung with red, blue, and white polka dots)
It's so funny because we rub it in our bosses face because his son is going to prom with the girl wearing the dress. Lets just say that curfew has been set at 10 and the dance starts at 10. But at least she will have the 9:30-10:00 to completely embarass our boss.
It great. Not to be mean though, we all love each other a lot.

As long as the lightbulb still works, you candecorate it with a hot glue gun and make designs on it then paint over the glue for a nice color and more fun.

Decorate envelopes with the pictures. It makes getting mail a lot more exciting

For the coffee tins here is a really cute lantern

-Freeze the can full of water so it is solid
-Hammer a screwdriver into different areas making holes in the can
-Melt the ice
-Light candle in the tin and the design will glow out of the can
(This works best in dark rooms or late at night you can decorate your porch)
