1  what to do with this?? in Knitting: Discussion and Questions by Ubermensch on: July 09, 2006 06:16:18 PM
Alright. A good friend of mine's mother was getting rid of some yarn from her stash, and gave it to me. Yay!

However, among some of the better yarn, I got seven skeins of polyester yarn.

Yup. 420 yards of black 100% polyester yarn.

Any ideas?

picture time!

my button band is messed up as well...I did something funny picking up the stitches, but It's not a big enough deal to pull it out

the back looks pretty good though, if I do say so myself

5  okay beatles pillowcase in Stenciling: Completed Projects by Ubermensch on: July 13, 2005 08:47:53 PM
A friend of mine is having a birthday soon, so I asked her if she wanted me to stencil something for her as part of her present, she wanted a pillowcase and she is a hardcore beatles fan, so voila!

I think it turned out pretty well, the faces look good, but oddly enough the letters which should have been easy look a little weird, it bled in a spot or too as well. But, good enough for a thread here I hope... Smiley

6  Re: Show off your hair! in Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions by Ubermensch on: July 08, 2005 09:36:55 PM
Wow I love that purple!! I am not allowed to dye my hair, at least not till I move out. I wish I could dye it red, but I am afraid of looking like Shirley Temple... Tongue

So there it is...chemical-free, and really frizzy eek!

8  Odd Stains... in Stenciling: Discussion and Questions by Ubermensch on: June 30, 2005 03:09:24 PM
I stenciled this shirt the other day, using the contact paper method which has worked really well for me so far, and when I peeled the contact paper off, the paint had leeched into the fabric, not just bled, but dyed the fabric. It's strange because the stains aren't even the same color as the paint is.

I tried to bleach them out with a bleach pen but that didn't work. They weren't that big so I decided just to leave them, but when I heat set the design, they spread. so now they are really big!

See? By the eyes, nose and mouth.

I'm just going to paint white paint all over the face and shoulders so It doesn't look so bad, but why did this happen? I've never had this problem before.... Huh

9  Magazine Collages in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by Ubermensch on: June 25, 2005 10:32:07 PM
My sister used to subscribe to Teen People, and I always thought that the advertisements were so funny! I decided to totally destroy a couple of her old issues one day, and I made some collages in the process.

The pictures turned out kind of yellowish...darn florescent lights

They are a bit ironic I think... especially coming from a teen magazine

And oh yes...this is my first post,  hurray!
