Got my way cool clothes from DontdresslikeApril today! Totally spoiled me!

These are my pretty wash cloths in awesome bright happy colors! Then she sent me some real awesome napkins/not papertowels. These are really neat and I have never thought of making them. Love the prints she picked as well!

Thanks April for a great package!

2  Re: Ongoing ATC Swap December 2010 in The Swap Gallery by Thenutmeg2000 on: January 07, 2011 03:13:54 PM
I got my last 2 cards this week. I got one from Seeba7 with Coffee theme which she hand painted and a totally hillarious one from Suereal from the theme Brat Pack Movies. She did The Breakfast Club. I have been giggling reading it since I opened it remembering who's lines they were.

Thanks so much for the real cool ATCs as this was my first swap for them!

5  Fiber Friday Sep 24 in Spinning: Completed Projects by Thenutmeg2000 on: September 24, 2010 03:55:04 PM
So why at after 630 pm am I starting this?? I know you are out there!

I have 3 skeins of yarns. They are really stuff sitting around on bobbins that I finally plyed. I got The Gentle Art of Plying video..wow..great if ya haven't seen it!

First up is superwash merino from Sheep Shed dyed by Carole. It was going to be one whopper skein but it broke on the ball winder when I made a center pull ball to ply it on it's self.

This is the spunky ecclectic I spun last week.

Hope you all have a great crafty week!

6  Re: Fierb Club, Special Edition 2010 GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by Thenutmeg2000 on: September 20, 2010 03:20:35 PM
I got my 2 packages today with lots of goodies! From Loves2Experiment I got this pretty bit of fiber- Merino silk blend and a little extra bump off the side of some more pretty fiber because the bigger was only 3.5 oz. What a spoiler! I loved the inspiration picture too. Under the Sea

the next yum bunch was from Dragonflyducky and she really put together some more great stuff! I got merino and a side portion of bamboo, some lovely shiney angelina stuffs to match. Plus way cool stitch markers that matched my fiber.

Also a very awesome picture to go off of.
Thanks so very much to my wonderful swap pals! I love every bit of my pretty fiber! Now to keep my friends out of it.... Grin

7  First small bit from Glassblowing in Glass Crafts: Completed Projects by Thenutmeg2000 on: September 10, 2010 04:31:04 PM
I go to a community college with an exceptional art school and we have glass blowing. Wow standing in front of 2000 degree furnace is a different thing. This is a small flower to introduce us to how to use tweezers (big things not the eyebrow sort). We are learning how to manipulate the glass first.

I got some rather odd comments about it from my friends over facebook...I still think it was pretty cool..lol

Yeaaaa New Wheel! I love Faulkland wool too. I have 2 bobbins of my unfinished pile or 6 oz of Spunky Ecclectic's F.O.M. Club from August. I ordered an extra helping to get the 6. It is a yummmmm blend of BFL and silk. Colorway Ecclectic Jam. I probably have enough for most of another bobbin. I haven't decided how I want to ply it yet.

9  Re: Fiber Friday - Friday the 13th Edition! in Spinning: Completed Projects by Thenutmeg2000 on: August 13, 2010 02:32:39 PM
Try hitting that silk with steam to set it. Makes it shine a little more too. I love those yarns! Here is my offer this week. A small skein that was on a bobbin that told me it really needed to be plyed. So I chain plyed it. It is probably 2 oz as I used a small Ashford bobbin and that is about what I get from them. I got it from Bullens Wullens (woolens?)at Maryland S&W. I LOVE everything I get from them!

I think the fiber is BFL. The first pic is better representation of the color and then a good close up

10  Re: DIY Craft Kit Rd 12 in The Swap Gallery by Thenutmeg2000 on: August 09, 2010 12:39:01 PM
Wow I got a super cool kit from Brielauren on making potholders! She made a super tutorial book to go with it that is just as pretty as it is informative too, complete with pictures to help. I did not know of the inner material for hot things called Insulbrite. And I think I am in love with bias tape and it's possibilities..lol

Thanks SO much for your thoughtful package!
