I used a sweet little pattern that I purchased on Etsy to create these "Wrist Warmers".   I began this at the beginning of this month. The toughest part was procrastination. It would have taken a much shorter time for me to finish this project if I hadnt put it off so much. But Im so glad its finally done! I put a few more decorative buttons and now its pretty much considered done:

The flower and butterfly was done with a size F hook. They were also each separate patterns apart from the Wrist warmers. If youd like to know more about those, please send me a message!

wow--that is some VERY expensive yarn...I can't wait to see how you use it!

If I ever get to buy some, that is -- that's a picture from the online shop it was at.

Awesome, Kbryson!

I have yet to really, truly learn how to use a multi-colored yarn to my advantage where the pattern just lays out perfectly like that checkerboard-camo lookin' scarf you've got there.  I think it has to do with numbers, and math makes my brainz hurt.  So badly.

a mini comfort blanket just for you to stroke and hold when needing comfort

^ YES!!!!  XD

or just send it to me!

This would definitely be an amazing gift to send, but at $65 a pop -- wow -- I think I'd have to owe you my life first.  LOL!    (j/k)

Your list of suggestions for this kind of yarn is quite inspiring!  Thank you!

But, sometimes I wonder what came first...the pattern or the yarn...I see a lot of patterns, need yarn; I have a lot of yarn, need patterns...it is a vicious cycle and too many people here post too many nice things to make!!!!!!

OH so true!!  I'm telling you, I've bookmarked *so* many patterns, ideas, etc. that I'm nearly lost!  Gotta focus on one thing at a time before I make my hands fall off...

But I can blame a lot of that on my "Kid in a Candy Store" eyes and my devious mousewheel hand, scrolling down image lists of one adorable project after the other, just loading up on all of the possibilities....  d'aaah!!  *squeezes eyes shut*

Thanks for the Welcome, Everyone!  *^_^*

Seriously, though, this is the kind of thing that I'd get just to hold it in my hands with wide, shiny eyes of wonder, going "waaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh~~~~~"  Every 3 minutes...   I wouldn't even know the first thing to do with this kind of yarn.

What would you do with it?

Did it!  Yaaaay!      Woo-Hoo!!!        Go Me!             This is great!!     *^_^*

Had to literally turn the whole thing over in the baking dish and hit it with a blunt object to break into chunks.  lol
But it's yummy!
Thanks again!

Is it your own pattern or do you have a link you could share?  I have seen some lovely crochet cowls lately.

This was based off of a YouTube video called "how to crochet cowl free pattern tutorial for beginners".  I'm not sure that I'm allowed to post the link here, but you'll be able to find it there with that title in the search.

I took the basic steps and made my own, with a few more puffs in a row, and a few more rows than 'size 1':

9  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / My Latest Completion : Winter Cowl on: December 07, 2014 03:28:15 PM
Today I've finally completed the cowl I've been working on.  So happy!  *^_^*

It's just above a "size 1", according to the video tutorial I made it from.  This is the width of it (spread vertically, for irony's sake):

So glad to finally be done!  This particular pattern was quite a bit to do for me, but accomplishing it makes me feel good about future projects I wish to tackle.

Thanks for checking it out.
10  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Introduce Yourself / This is Aurura on: December 03, 2014 01:45:16 PM
I'm new here (though I've visited Craftster before!).  I crochet and am new at sewing.
It's winter time, and I'm now into my crocheting projects.  This time around, I figured that it would be sweet to find a crocheting/sewing pen pal.

I'm 40 (17 in my brainz).
I'm happily married and have 3 kids (a young adult, a teen and a toddler!)
I'm usually quite a procrastinator about my projects, but I feel that having a pen-pal who's also crocheting/sewing their own things would be a great motivation and inspiration.

I'm interested in crocheting accessories, household items, and just artsy things.  I also like the idea of sewing household items and cute stuff just to have around.  I love the "mori girl" style of clothing.  I aspire to learn how to create clothing of such design.

...aaaand that's about it!  I would truly love to find a suitable pen-pal...  You don't have to like the same things I do or anything.  Just post back here and lemme know if you'd like to be my pen-pal!  *^_^*

Nice to meet you all.
