1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Craft for my planner on: October 14, 2015 02:11:29 PM
I'm just getting into the gorgeous planners I see all over Pinterest these days. Anyone else here use a planner? I'm not exactly sure how it would work- if anyone is interested, let's brainstorm. I'm thinking maybe a sweatshop swap type thing where we make several of an item and send them around, maybe include some supplies. A lot of the packages (page flags for example) come multiple to a pack so we would end up with a good variety.

We could make/send fancy page clips, bookmarks, dashboards, dividers, tassels, stamps, stickers, pens, page flags, sticky note pads, folders, pockets, art, washi tape, etc.

I'm back! Now that I have internet access I was able to update my post with all the goodies that thimbles sent. So many fantastic gifties in this gallery! Some of my favorites: the bat conservation donation, cat skull hanging, eyeball pin cushion, skull blocks, raven painting, crocheted zero ornament (Smeddley, if you do the OWS, keep an eye out for me Cheesy), the patchwork mug rug, the crow pillows, the ouji board mug rug, the grim reaper, THAT RAVEN TAXIDERMY.

I wonder how the format of editing a previous post with new pics was chosen. It seems like it would be so much easier to see everyone's photo'so if it was just a new post.

Anyway, loving all these beautiful Halloween crafts! Am I the only one who wishes their partner could just open them all up? I know the exercise in patience is good for me.  Grin

I was also wondering what dental phantoms were, lol. I like suereal's idea better, but their both pretty creepy  Grin

I received a while ago. Apologies to the rockingbearranch, these need to be fawned over!!

OMG, how cool is this!! One of the things I love about these swaps is that your mind comes up with all these ideas, but every time the package is such a surprise. It's so fun to get these totally unexpected and wonderful projects, so much inspiration!
Anyway, rockingbearranch is a fantastic artist and drew this anatomical disection of a hand and mounted it on a tray. It'll be on display, but I'm also having fun with the idea of serving treats on it and as people eat they slowly discover what's underneath, mwhahahaha.

She also made the 3D version of the missing thumb which is so realistic it's almost hard to touch!

AND (as if that weren't enough) there's a fantastic little copper rimmed slide of icky little things. I can't stop looking at it. I love it all so much, thank you, rockingbearranch!!!

As far as my package is concerned- I still haven't received a supply I ordered. I didn't know what I was getting myself into with this idea, heh. I'm also about to leave for a 9 day fall road trip through New England (Salem in October, guys!!). So, my package is going to be so late. I'm so sorry, rockingbearranch, I hope it'll be worth the wait!

You won't hear from me for a while, I'll be back on the 11th.

I must confess. I leave for a 9 day trip on October 2nd and there's NO WAY I'm waiting until I get back to open. Soooooo, these are totally all getting opened up before I leave. WOO!

I will try my hardest to post a pic for each day still while I'm gone.

Now that the package is in the mail, the dust is settling and holey crap!  Shocked The craft tsunami left behind in my house after 3 months of frantic crafting just might take another 3 months to clean. ribbons! felt! tissue paper! fabric! everywhere! I had resorted to putting the cutting mat on the floor because the table was full. DH, the saint he is, never said a word  Grin

Oh, for crying out loud, leave it to the last day halloween jinx to find out that you are 6 inches short of something for one craft that is this >< close to done and that the fabric you got for another craft, the iron will burn a hole through.  Angry
Regardless, I'm basically done and should be able to send on time late tomorrow after getting the last 6 inches after work tomorrow then sending out.
Gah, does anyone else feel like they are handing in their masters thesis? I've never crafted like this before, it's a little bit hard to let it go!

I'm curious what is the method to everyone's madness when it comes to numbering their items. Smallest to biggest? Random? Other?

I knew I would regret not joining this swap! Gah! Everything is wonderful. Especially love the plague doctor. That doggie tribute is the sweetest.
