11  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / spa/pamper yourself swap on: April 07, 2005 07:30:02 AM
I did a search and I didn't see this idea yet, so maybe no one has done something like this in a while.

Since it is spring and it is a lovely time to pamper yourself and get ready for the summer, how about a spa themed swap?  You could make all sorts of goodies and treats for your partner like lavender eye masks, booties, spa recipe cards, even bath bombs and scrubs.

  Anyone interested?

13  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / My New Pisces Shirt! on: March 28, 2005 06:10:20 AM
I found this pattern posted on craftster a long time ago and finally got around to making good use of it when a friend of mine gave me an old shirt she didn't want.  I printed out the image, but didn't have any tracing paper, so I literally stitched through the printer paper.  The paper was a huge pain to rip away, but that it what I get for being too lazy to try to find my transfer paper.

Here is an in progress pic.  I stitched image onto the bottom of the t-shirt and an wearing it at work today:

Sorry about the camera phone pic!
14  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Road Trip Gift on: March 09, 2005 07:58:50 AM

My wonderful co-working is moving all the way from the East Coast to the West Coast.  She will be driving most of the way out there and camping from time to time.  I wanted to give her something nice before she leaves, and I was thinking that something road trip related might be fun.  I would also like tomake her a few things as well.  I know I want to get her a book about road trips, does anyone have any good ideas of what other things might be nice to go with it?
15  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Craftster Itself / What do these mean? on: March 03, 2005 08:04:50 AM
I am going to try to explain this as best as I can.  When you are looking at a listing of topics on a board, there are two icons before the title of the thread.  The first one means things like "popular topic," "sticky topic" etc.  There is a key for that on the bottom of the page.  Next to those are more symbols.  Those are sometimes a smilely or a thumbs up.  What do those mean?
16  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Puppet swap on: February 28, 2005 09:57:32 AM
Last night I watched the episode of Angel where he turns into a puppet.  This made me think to myself "You know, I don't think there are enough puppets in the world..."  Perhaps we could fix this problem with a puppet themed swap.  The idea would be to try to make a little puppet for someone.  Since there are so many different kinds of puppets out there to make people could get really creative with shadow puppets, finger puppets, very ornate sock puppets..anything.  Not sure if anyone has done one of these in the past, but maybe we could pull this off if enough people are interested.  I think I'd also like to find someone who is okay being hte coordinator because with classes, I'm not sure if I would have time to make an extra swap item (you know, back-up in case anyone's partner doesn't come through).  Let me know if anyone is interested, there are a lot of different kinds of really beautiful puppets out there.
17  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / improv embroidery on: December 10, 2004 06:14:50 AM
I got this image from the wrapping of a japanese chocolate candy.  I changed it a little and drew it on the hanky with pencil.  Then I kinda made up the stiching as I went along.  The picture isn't great, but I hope you all like it anyway.  Wink

18  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / moss stitch scarf on: December 10, 2004 06:11:05 AM
I finally decided to stray from my usual garter stich scarf and try something new.

I also like the way my tassles came out.  I figured that would be a nice change from fringe too.  Now I know that trying new things can be a good thing!  Grin
19  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / desk/office swap on: December 08, 2004 09:58:59 AM

I think it would be great to have a swap where we swapped cool things to use at work or at our desks.  I think about crafting so much at work, it would be awesome to bring a little piece of crafting with me while I'm here.  We could make neat bags for our pens and pencils or a cute mini shrine to the art of crafting.  Pretty much anything that might be useful or spruce the place up to show some personality.  I am not brave enough to host a swap, and I'm going to be out of the country next month, but I thought someone around here might like the idea.
20  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / help with mural on: December 06, 2004 08:55:55 AM

Awhile back, I saw that there is this process where you can supersize a picture and then print it out to put it on your wall.  I think the name for doing it started with an "r."  can anyone remind me of the nae or a website that will enlarge the picture for me?
