Hi.  I have a confession to make.  i got this awsome package from Ollie last week....And I just realized that I have not posted pictures of the stuff she sent me.  And I am so sorry.  She sent me some of the coolest stuff.
Here it is....

This is a notebook with a cool graphic of a needle on it.  I work as a CNA and this will come in handy as I always cary around a little notebook to keep track of things at work.  And it is just the right size for my scrubs pocket.

This really cool set of pot holders is already in my kitchen.  I love to cool and I use these all the time.  I didn't really have any pot holders up until now, I had always used a kitchen towel.  I must admit that these are really nice to have around.

This is the coolest stuffy ever.  He is a GRUMPY PANCREAS!!!! As a diabetic I must say, that is the coolest thing I have ever seen....My husband thought he was great too.

To many diseases are treated with yucky pills.  I now have my own HAPPY PILL!!!! This is just so neat.  He is felted wool, needle felted that is.

These are 2 dish clothes that I got.  Are the sayings stenciled or screen printed?  Just wondering...They are alreading hanging up in my kitchen.
I also got some cinnimon tea, cinnimon is thought to be good for controlling blood sugar, and some really cool fairy stickers.  Ollie must have done some research because I love fairies!  Thank you so  much for all of the goodies, you really spoiled me.  I love everything in my package so much.

25  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Re: weight issues on: August 27, 2007 11:59:47 PM
a bit of starch sprayed into the calicos will help with the stretching issue.  It will also bulk up the calico a bit so they weights will be a little closer a match.  I say go for it.

Hi!  I love the purply color in the scarf.  You are right.  The picture came out great on the camera phone.  So glad you got everything straightened out.  hehe.
Love the scarf.  Looks like something Dana would wear.
28  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Re: The fear of cutting on: August 19, 2007 06:38:30 PM
I have lots of issues making that first cut into that piece of fabric.  Once I have made something out of a fabric I have no problem making other things with the remaining fabric.  It gets put into a few different scrap bags I have.  i love those scrap bags.  Hehe...No fear of messing up the good fabric.
And I never throw out fabric.  Not even the ugly, how the heck did I get that, eye bleeding fabric.  I always figure I can use it for stuffing something else or something. hehe.
And I use the little bits and pieces that are too small to sew into something it stuff projects.  It makes good rag stuffing.

And these are just some of my fabric issues.
29  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Help - I'm making a baby quilt but have no idea about children! on: August 19, 2007 05:27:12 PM
Satin is a weave of fabric.  You can use it for baby blankets no problem.  Use slightly larger seam allowances or use a surger if you have one.  I would use polyester satin.  It will wash well. If you have any doubts then you should buy some and wash it before hand to see what it will do.
Silk satin is not a good choice.  It will not wash well. Or it will wash but it will shrink and take on a completely different look.  Try washing some and see if you like it or not.
To sum up.
Babies like satin textured stuff.
Quilts are meant to be used in play.
wash before you sew a whole blanket with it so you know if you will like the look/feel before you get done.

oh my goodness.  That book binding is amazing.  I have been playing around a bit with that using some heavy cardboard and stuff. but wow!!!  That is just amazing.  I am blown away...really.
And I love the package that Edude got. I'm so going to have to go with 10 next time.  My 5 is ok but WOW!!! Now the bar has been raised and I'm scared.  I don't want the pictures of what I made put up now. hehe.
Oh well.
Nice packages everyone, everything is really great.
