1  My first Colourwork, first hat, first working in the round... in Knitting: Completed Projects by peachsorbet on: December 24, 2006 01:03:20 AM
Hey guys, thought I'd teach myself a bunch of new skills with one project (Knitty's centre square hat - the pattern on the front of the latest issue).

So I learnt fair isle, continental knitting, knitting in the round and ssk.

Here are some pictures.

This one shows the overall shape.

And this next one shows the colourwork close up.

The modifications I made were that instead of using two strands of worsted held together, I used a single strand of Garnstudio's Eskimo line. (The hat used two balls, in the end I had about 2 yards left of each colour). I didn't do the crown decreases until there were 8 stitches left before drawing the yarn through - I drew the yarn through the remaining stitches when there were 32 stitches left (hence the bunchier top than the one you see).

Anyways, thanks for looking. Any and all comments appreciated.

3  Re: Favorite Kids' Book Swap R.3 Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by peachsorbet on: June 06, 2006 05:01:15 PM
I received from Peachsorbet today and the stuff is amazing!  I already took pictures of all of it but I can't resize them because y\our computer is being dumb.  Unfortunately I'll have to wait until my husband gets home to get the pics up here.  She sent me handpainted spice jars (4), Sculpey magnets (3), and Marble magnets (14).  Everything is so well done!  and stuff that I wouldn't have ever made myself.  I love it all and want to show it off!  Thank you Peachsorbet!!

You're welcome! I can't wait to see pics. All I managed to get were scanned images of the paint on the spice jars.

Edit: *doh* since I -have- those pictures, I might as well post them!

4  Re: black cat swap? in New Swap Theme Ideas by peachsorbet on: March 31, 2006 10:35:09 AM
I like the collar idea, but my cats are "naked" because they can take collars off. I even got them some for small dogs that don't have the cat safety release, and they took them off. Speaking of those, did the person who designed them even have a cat?? I've never had a cat who would wear one for more than a couple days before taking it off.

I swear my cats help each other take them off. The cat collar (even with the safety release) stayed on just fine when I only had one cat (the black one at that!)

but once they got together: Look Ma! No collars!

Hey! I have an orange and a black cat too! I never thought of them as "Halloween cats" though:

Gosh, this thread inspired me to finally register for this forum!

I know you really weren't looking for more butterflies, but here's my tattoo:

I didn't get a very good shot because I took the pitcure myself, but it's on my lower back. Inked on my 18th birthday.
