1  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Cutting card without marking the underside on: March 21, 2014 03:24:13 AM
Hello everyone.

I am new here and joined simply to ask others more experienced than myself a simply question.  I have a Big Shot and have successfully cut many shapes, however, my cutting plates became very scored and started to leave marks from the Dies on the underside of the card when I cut out.  I purchased new plates and kept one as the cutting plate always turning it to prevent it warping and cutting in the same place.  However, the cutting plate has become once again very scored and this is now leaving hundreds of scratch like unsightly lines on the underside of the card. I have tried cutting double thickness so I could just use the top cut, but it goes all the way through, if I lower/change the cutting platform so the roller does not press so hard on the card when it rolls over the top to cut, then it does not cut all the way through. If using the cuts just for toppers it would be fine, but I need both sides to look like the top.  What am I doing wrong.  All replies/suggestions welcome.  Thank you all for reading.  Happy crafting  xxx
