1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Snowy Knitted Owl on: February 28, 2012 11:24:16 AM
Hi there!  I finished this little guy a week ago and wanted to let you have a peek.  He is nice and snuggly filled with fiberfill and a few handfuls of beans in the bottom which help him stay up.  I can't wait to see how my friend's new baby likes him.  He has only stitched details, so there's no choking hazard - hooray!

2  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Knitted whale - last Christmas plushy! on: January 03, 2012 03:44:20 PM
Here she blows!  This is the last one I made and it came out pretty well:

The dog enjoys her company:

And lastly, here she is with the octopus (they'll go to siblings)

Let me know what you think of this last one (for now anyway!)
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Knitted Seahorse - new action shots! on: January 03, 2012 03:15:21 PM
Ok, my niece was quite happy with her seahorse and actually demanded that I make her another one so that she'd have a "friend."  How cute is that?

I'll show you:

4  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Knitted Loch Ness Monster! - new photo on: January 03, 2012 03:11:38 PM
He loved it!  Hooray!  And everyone was very impressed with all the Christmas toys I knitted.

Thanks! =blush= I'm so glad you all like him.

I brought him to work yesterday and folks seemed to enjoy playing with him since his tenacles have pipecleaners inside and are posable.  I can't wait for Christmas myself now...

I would highly recommend getting this book by Hansi Singh, all the creatures are coming out even better than I imagined.
6  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Knitted Octopus on: December 21, 2011 09:47:33 AM
Ok, this is my third knitted amigurumi and I think it's the best so far!  I can't wait to give this to my little nephew!  Just one more to make before Christmas and at this rate, I should have them all done on time Smiley

He's a very frisky fellow!

He likes to take a ride on the Loch Ness Monster

He thinks a hug is just a strangle you haven't finished yet

I can't get enough

Hope you like him too - let me know what you think.  He's for a 4 year old little boy.

Thanks so much everyone.  I had a blast making this and plan to do at least one more in a different color.  I've also started the octopus pattern from the same book with a Noro yarn in greens, blues and purples.

I wish I didn't have to work 8 hours a day so I would have more time for crafting!

It's darling - I would totally wear it.  Any chance you can make a knit pattern too?
9  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Knitted Seahorse on: December 14, 2011 01:29:18 PM
Thanks!  I bought the pattern on etsy from "Cheezombie":

It knit up like a dream and I did 2 slight mods - I made the horns by doing 4 rows of i-cord and I did a crochet picot edge for the "mane."

Well, the loch ness monster was so fun to make for my nephew, that I decided to make a cute seahorse for my little niece too.

Here she is in all her snuggly glory (pattern by Cheezombie):
