3  CITY GUIDES FOR CRAFTSTERS / U.K. AND IRELAND / printable postage from the royal mail - great for swapping! on: September 18, 2006 07:48:17 PM
The Royal mail JUST brought this out, so I haven't used it yet but I would've thought it would be great for swaps if you haven't got an easily accessible/very often open post office Smiley You get a reciept, but not proof of posting, because you haven't actually posted it yet. If you need a proof of posting you need to get the form stamped when you post your item, however many swap organisers would be happy with a photo before you mail as proof, so you can swap wherever you are - or at whatever time! Midnight posting - yeay! http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm/jump3?catId=400043&mediaId=26800663 for buying stamps online. LOL soo cool!

The idea of this swap is to create things that would usually be sewn, using other methods such as tying or glueing.
For this swap you will need to make 3 smalls items or 2 medium items or 1 large item and 1 small item - or other equal(ish) combination. The 'size' is based on how much effort/time the craft took NOT the finished size of the piece.
Try to embellish items to make them more unique and fun, iron-on tape comes into its own when no-sew embellishing!
Feel free to use pre-made items such as t-shirts or pillowcases as a starting point for new creations.

5  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / no-sew swap? on: July 29, 2006 05:22:43 PM
I was thinking a no-sew swap would be fun, things made out of fabric that would usually be sewn.
It would be great to see all the creative no-sew ideas craftsters can come up with.

What do people think?
6  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / first [proper] things I made (needle felting) on: June 27, 2006 02:37:48 PM
Well offically these aren't the first things I have needle felted, as the first couple of times I just landed up with blobs! but I am quite proud of these (sorry about the blurry photos!)

felted flower pin thing
It doesn't look that this anymore cos I accidently left in on my top and it went in the washing machine and went all shrunk - but my sister thinks it looks better now lol

felted daffodils (look much better in real life !!!)

and felted picture of a fish (the flat-needle felting tutorial on here helped loads!)

Hope you like them Smiley

9  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Scrapbooking: Completed Projects / First digital scrapbook page on: December 26, 2005 06:29:40 PM
I made lots of photo montages and things on the computer before, but I got a digital camera this Christmas and made a digital scrapbook double page spread thing.

embellishments etc from www.shabbyprincess.com
Anyone know how to get them to post the same size (they are supposed to be the same size!)

I also started some paper scrapbook pages with some of the my christmas loot - Anyone ever used a compass circle cutter? Santa gave me one-  It cuts good circles, but it leaves a little hole in the middle, anyway around this? Someone suggested blue-tac.

P.S Anyone know what the font used for the logo of the game Twister is? I wanna use it !
10  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Stitch And BOTCH / magnets upside down on: December 15, 2005 06:17:01 PM
I made these really nice marble magnets for my cousin and I wondered why the weren't sticking to the tin - I thought maybe the tin was not magnetic (i just bought the tin), then I tried to stick the magnets to the fridge and they didn't stick - I'm like 'I know the magnets work', turns out I stuck 'em on upside down Sad now I can't give them to my cousin - Oh Dear!!
