1  no, I do not plan on sticking pins in them... in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by dimede on: April 02, 2006 07:25:06 AM
One night while talking to The Boy about zombie movies and my love of dollies ,I got the brilliant idea that I would make him a zombie version of himself. Then I needed to make him a partner.

Now I think they need some friends so they can have a dinner party....

2  Diaper Bag w/extras in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by dimede on: January 11, 2006 08:10:03 AM
I am completely addicted to bag-making...below are pics of a bag I made to give to my nephew's wife as part of her shower gift...she's a bit too stylish to be shlepping around something covered in teddy bears or what not....sorry for the blurry snaps...

her favourite colours are brown and blue...there is one large deep pocket on the front
  the buttons are purely decorative...

inside there is a matching purse organizer, detachable bottle bag, and a change pad with its own drawstring bag....I attached velcro along the inside to hold the bottle bag in place...

it's my most complicated project with my sewing machine so far, and I'm mostly pleased with it...learning that sewing slower means more even stitches...I'd love both comments and criticism...

3  my first duffle type bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by dimede on: January 02, 2006 07:32:33 AM
I made this (sort of) following Lia's awesome tutorial for mini duffles https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=7290.0, after my bestfriend's daughter said she wanted something "not pink, not girly"

Camo print with hockey player outline and denim...the ends were a little difficult, but it turned out ok....and its not girly at all....

4  first post, 2 totebags/1 handbag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by dimede on: December 30, 2005 05:16:07 AM
I've been creeping around for a while and decided I'd post...I've been sewing for ages but always by hand, last month I broke down and bought a sewing machine, Smartest move ever

First bag is dotted dragonfly print front, black corduroy back, peach quilted lining, black corduroy patch pocket, no closure.

Second bag is grey canvas on the outside, pink flannel with giraffe lining, patch pocket, flannel ties. Made it as a gift for bf's daughter.

Third is stiff sateen outside, poker printed cotton inside, loop and button closure. Making this for a friend but not happy with the strap.

I don't use a pattern, and the tote bags are fairly big and meant to be slouchy so I didnt use interfacing...my entire process(like my life) is trial and error. But I have gotten some great ideas from other craftsters and I can't wait to try them....
