1  Re: Post your photography in here :D in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by Pariah on: May 17, 2007 07:42:54 PM
Photography is my first love...here are a few of mine.

I love abandoned places...a lot. A little too much, according to my husband.   Cheesy

2  My son's lunar/space party...updated w/a few photos! in Party Planning by Pariah on: January 04, 2007 07:15:49 AM
So it took me forever to remember to come update with photos, but here are some!

Cakes decorated with fondant.

The invitations.

My son's first birthday party is going to be on the 27th, and I'm still in need of ideas!

So far I have (I'll post photos of the invites asap!)...

-- Cake and ice cream. I'm making crescent moon shaped cakes, covering with fondant and decorating (my sister and I have fallen in love with cake decorating!). I also have ice cream sandwich molds, so each guest is getting a little moon cake and a star shaped ice cream sandwich.

-- Invitations. I got little glass jars from Michael's and put a mix of sand (for the Sand Man, of course), tiny crystal stars, and fine silver glitter in the bottom. The invitation details are written on silver translucent paper, cut in the shape of a cloud. The cloud paper is rolled up and has a baby blue ribbon tied around it in a bow, with silver moon and star charms dangling from the knot.

I'm not having any great ideas so far in the area of decorations. Michael's has a box of glow in the dark planets and starts, but not the usual kind that stick on the ceiling/walls. These are ones that you assemble so they're "3D" like and you hang them from the ceiling. I thought those looked cool, and I could decorate them a bit more (maybe a little glitter on some edges?).

I'm also a bit stuck on party favors/gifts. There are only four other little kids coming, so a vast majority of the guests are adults. For the adults, I am thinking of pouring candles into baby food jars that I am decorating with moon and stars with etching cream (etching the whole jar except the moon and star shapes...leaving those clear glass). Maybe a blue ribbon around the top of the jar? I'm not sure what to get for the kids...there are two three year olds, a four year old, and a six month old. I'm not sure what is really great for the three and four year olds. Our son is our first child, so up to one year is all the parenting experience I have so far!  Grin

I would love to hear any suggestions! I am going to do a lot of browsing around here for more ideas...
