Those curtains & washclothes are absolutely wonderful! The quilt was a masterpiece! I have finished 2 quilt tops from stash fabric so far. I will cut out #3 & 4 tonight I hope. After those are done, I'll finish them up & donate them.

Moda Bake Shop has some cute baby quilt tutes.  I'm going to make a garden fence one out of a cute line of fabric.

I thought my UFO list was bad so I'm happy to see there are some older items out there.  Grin

Thanks! I'll check it out!

A friend just announced that she's having a baby in June!!! I'm super excited!
Guess this means that I can make another quilt. Any suggestions for a beginner quilter (who should be a little better after making 12 others)??

Hi! I joined Craftster yesterday for just this purpose - to gain support for my 2014 de-stashing resolution. Then I could not find a 2014 Destash thread (I saw all the past years however).

My 2014 resolution:
1. Do not buy any fabric or craft supplies until I use up as much stash/ stockpile as possible. (i have some decorator fabric that I'm not sure why I bought it).
2. Make 12+ quilts for charity. Most will be baby or kid quilts because of the chairty that I am thinking of.
3. Try to swap for any fabric that I need. (I do not have many large pieces for backings for example)
4. Encourage my mom to do the same thing Smiley

Together we can make our goals become reality!
385  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Introduce Yourself / Hello from Minnesota on: December 31, 2013 02:53:52 PM
Hi! I am happy to introduce myself. I am Brandy & am from Minnesota. Yes, it's very cold here right now. It's a perfect day for crafting!
I have been using Craftster for about 3 years to find (free) tutorials, etc, but just joined this lovly community today since I am going to make my first New Year's resolution in several years. I need some support, please. My resolution is to not buy any fabric until I use up most of my stash by making 12 baby/kid quilts (and anything else I decide I "need"). This should take me atleast until July 1. I have a stash of decorator fabric from making bags & purses....I'm not sure what to do about that fabric. I may need to buy some fabric for backings, but will try my best not to....my dream is to trade with someone for the backings if I run out of large enough pieces or if I need anything further.

My 12 quilts will be donated to local charities. My #1 thought is to donate them to Bundles of Love, a local non-profit that gives baby supplies to a new baby whose family has little resources when that baby leaves the hospital. I also may donate them to a battered women's shelter that is only a couple miles from my house & I drive past often.

Feel free to say "hi" and encourage me along my path! I'd be happy to encourage you with any craft resolutions too  Smiley Or let me know if you want to swap.

Hi! I am brand new to the Craftster community (but have read Craftster for a few years). I joined today so that I could post on here about my New Year's resolution without the hassle of starting a blog. I have resolved to not buy more fabric until I de-stash. While doing so, I am going to make 12+ quilts for a local charity (Bundles of Love) which provides "bundles" of baby supplies to newborns whose families have limited resources. In each bundle there is a baby quilt.

I am unsure which 12+ quilts I will be making, but I do have a start to that list.

1. Simple Pinwheel (http://www.diaryofaquilter.com/2013/02/color-me-retro-tutorial.html) - top is done
2. Simple Stripes (http://www.diaryofaquilter.com/2011/06/simple-stripes-quilt-tutorial.html)
3. Charm pack quilt set on point (most of the "charm pack" is cut out of yardage already) - top done, but not on point due to lack of yardage for a background.
4 & 5. Serendipity quilts (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7DFo-mIa47A)
6. Heart quilt
7. Chevron quilt (http://www.theclothparcel.com/blog/page/4/)
8. Dissapearing 9 patch - top done
