131  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Multi coloured stencils!! on: June 20, 2005 02:54:58 AM
I made this wall hanging for my mum not so long ago, its a three colour stencil of wasps. I cut them out of paper and used housepaints to paint them! I printed them on a cheap tab top curtain I found. The trick to multi coloured stencils I think, is to put the lighter colours first. If anyone is interested in knowing how to do them I could put a tutorial together.

132  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / funky woven boxes - you should be able to view them now! on: June 20, 2005 02:35:29 AM
I have been making these funky little woven boxes out of wire and strips of material and a lot of PVA glue to hold it all together nicely. I was making a basic frame out of thick wire, then weaving strips of ripped material through wire that I'd wrapped around the frame. (I ripped up a few old bedsheets.) I got right into it and made a whole bunch of different sizes with different lids, this one has beads and a bell on the lid as decoration.
Now forgive me if these photos dont turn out, I tried my best, if they dont work, I'll try again!! I'll put some more photos of other ones if these photos turn out ok!

OK! They worked! Big photos, sorry about that. But here are some more (probably just as big) of another little box I made! Tell me what you think! Smiley

133  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Re: I've figured out the best way to stencil EVER. A must read. (tutorial and pics) on: June 12, 2005 11:23:30 PM
[img]Hi there, I'm very very new to this site, I'm not sure how it all works but I had a look in this room about stencils. I do heaps and heaps of them, and have found that old Xrays are perfect for stenciling. I picked up heaps of old x rays from a doctors surgery, and you just clean them off with a scourer and soapy water and then you have a beautiful clear platic surface that you can trace onto, and cut out easily, and they last forever!
