If you're handy with makeup, pretty much any costume is at your disposal. Checking out youtube for halloween tutorials brings up tons of results. A few other quick, easy, costume ideas are:

-ladybug: red shirt with black polka dots, black pants, antennae
-a Sim, a la radioheart in this thread https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=267631.0
-I'm thinkin' Arby's, http://www.coolest-homemade-costumes.com/coolest-im-thinking-arbys-costume.html
-tourist: guys loud Hawaii shirt, shorts, hat, neck camera/man purse; girls bright loud dress, flats, big sun hat, big purse. bring maps too!
-dice, rubix cube or anything made out of a box, paint and ribbon straps
-Greek God/Goddess: sheets, greenery and sandals

I've never really sewed my own costume and am not familiar with the in's and out's of other costume option fabrics, but I think fleece might be a little floppy in the body area unless it is stuffed. It would be a really easy material to sew with though and comes in pretty much every colour you'd need. Fleece is also (obviously) warm, so if you're living somewhere cold-ish, you won't have to layer a parka underneath (every costume I had as a child had to be parka-friendly). If you have any of that brown packing paper, you could easily draw the shape you wanted for your body and chalk it out on the fleece.

8  COOKING / Dessert / Country Fest Cupcakes! on: June 11, 2009 07:27:33 PM
Hi everyone! Beginning tomorrow at my work (Fort William Historical Park, check out www.fwhp.ca if you're curious, haha), we are hosting a three-day, two-night country concert. As we are understaffed in administration and admissions/customer service, we will need lots of energy to help aid in the 3 days of upcoming double shifts, so I thought...cupcakes!  Cheesy They are chocolate banana cupcakes, but I didn't have any white icing and was too time-crunched to make it, so I had to make due with chocolate.  Undecided

There's a cowboy hat made out of tootsie rolls that were heated and rolled into shape.

Another angle Smiley

My cowboy boot! also made out of tootsie roll

This is Willy. Willy is the name of our voyageur mascot at work, so his name automatically goes to any sort of object/person that belongs to the Fort.

And another Smiley
