1  Country Fest Cupcakes! in Dessert by shea_47 on: June 11, 2009 07:27:33 PM
Hi everyone! Beginning tomorrow at my work (Fort William Historical Park, check out www.fwhp.ca if you're curious, haha), we are hosting a three-day, two-night country concert. As we are understaffed in administration and admissions/customer service, we will need lots of energy to help aid in the 3 days of upcoming double shifts, so I thought...cupcakes!  Cheesy They are chocolate banana cupcakes, but I didn't have any white icing and was too time-crunched to make it, so I had to make due with chocolate.  Undecided

There's a cowboy hat made out of tootsie rolls that were heated and rolled into shape.

Another angle Smiley

My cowboy boot! also made out of tootsie roll

This is Willy. Willy is the name of our voyageur mascot at work, so his name automatically goes to any sort of object/person that belongs to the Fort.

And another Smiley

2  Re: The Art of Makeup in Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions by shea_47 on: June 25, 2008 05:55:41 PM
here are a couple pics of my makeup in the last 2 weeks. i work at a dental office in reception and my boss is really mellow, so basically anything goes makeup wise as long as we wear our scrubs and the makeup colour stays on the eyes or lips. no face-shadow, haha.

sorry all the poses are basically the same, it's the only angle my camera will pick up the colour, and it still does not do it well  Undecided and mods, if the pictures are too huge, let me know and i'll change the sizing.

purple day! one of my first adventures into colourful makeup.

green day! haha  Smiley

gold and purple...mardi gras colours! except in june...hehe

coral! the main colour is paradisco by mac....i heart mac. i'm sorry about my terrible cat eye in this one though, i had to zip on my liner in the car before work started  Tongue

3  Pies gone wild. in Dessert by shea_47 on: June 05, 2008 07:07:39 PM
Hiii. This is a bit of a long story but here goes. I like to make pies and tarts and such on a whim, but am not always a fan of making pie crust that same day as I get lazy. So, today I had an urge to make pies but alas, I could not find a ball of dough labelled 'pie shells'. So, when I found an un-marked dough, I figured I must have been lazy with labels and it was pie dough. I attempted to roll it out to make 2 pies and it would not roll large enough to cover the pan I was using, so I decided to use muffin tins...

Shocked Behold the spectacle of pies gone wild:

These are the blueberry pies I baked first. The mysterious ball of dough actually turned out to be puff pastry. Darn. Hence why they are dark, they cooked for dough-time, not puff pastry-time.

The second batch of rhubarb pies turned out lighter, and the lattice was soo cute but ridiculously annoying after making 3 pies with them.

And holding a pie for size comparison.

Thanks for looking!

4  Just one...new to card-making in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by shea_47 on: March 05, 2008 10:49:46 AM
Hey everyone, I had never made a card before but decided to make one for my boyfriend 'cause he's a romantic boy. Our one month is Friday but he's going home that day so we're hanging out tomorrow. We haven't said the L-word yet so it was hard to choose colours and such but here is my first adventure into card-making!

The pictures are really small but you can click them and make them bigger Smiley

Here is the front of the card with our day on it

The inside with a picture of us taken by a friend at the bowling alley. I didn't realize how un-straight I cut our picture until now, eeps!
The lyrics in this photo read "There's no promise of safety in these secondhand wings, but I'm willing to find out what impossible means; a leap of faith" from the band Thrice, whose concert we had planned on seeing together before he asked me out.

And here's the back! I had my whole name on the back, not just Shea, so it's not off center in real life.

This is a look I did for a hallowe'en party last night (I was a leopard, and it was my first attempt at leopard print; I should have practised). I wish I had the guts to wear stuff like this to school  Undecided
I liked it a lot, these are the best pics I have, as my bangs kept getting in the way

I used a load of eyeshadows even though it looks like I used 2, haha. I used:
-flirt "i'm whipped" eyeshadow creme in firey (discontinued) as a base
-the body shop golden khaki, kronk (outer corner) and copper (in the spots + crease)
-l'oreal HIP loose pigment 848 tenacious
-annabelle loose pigment in gold
-rimmel shimmery white eyeshadow (highlight, inner corners)
-no name browny-grey shadow as liner/eyelash filler

6  Tote bag: the Used and MCR in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by shea_47 on: June 12, 2005 08:52:35 AM
here is my first ever post and creation on craftster! i was inspired by the SNL tote so I decided to make my own, but using sharpie markers and my favourite bands instead of SnL. I don't think I'm quite done with it yet, hopefully more quotes on the back, any suggestion?.... I hope the pics work because sometimes i can't follow directions

aha! i found out how to host pics! now they should work

the front of the tote, with the scribble man in the middle, the used heart, the bands names and "merci pour le venin"

the back of it, the quotes read
"popsicles should be the new black and then everyone would have one"-Frank,
"there's less violence in the world when people are using hula-hoops"-Mikey
"we can duct tape my knee, i dont care"-Gerard
"because it'll be a great time. because we can be best friends. and because i'll give you two monkeys."-Bert

random details from the bag

i didn't know how to put a handle on so i sewed it on by hand and that messed it up but oh well. the inside is lined with black fleece and the outside is an old polo shirt that i cut up and used.
