51  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Hot Pink Bathroom! on: July 11, 2005 03:31:29 PM
You can sort of see the shower curtain, too.  It's black, white, and silver on a translucent background.
When I get bored of the vaguely Bollywood theme, this is totally turning into the New Wave Bath!
52  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / pink circles and puzzle pieces on: July 11, 2005 01:55:58 PM
Craft soundtrack: De-Lovely soundtrack, The Rogue Wave, The Jesus and Mary Chain.
This is the puzzle that took forever to finish, because of certain little fuzzy jerk cats.  You'll notice that there are still pieces missing.

Plus this:

Equals something else to make my hallway less boring!

I also think I'm going to print this on some shirts.
53  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / mermaid 'n' coatrack on: July 11, 2005 01:48:12 PM

The previous and really shifty tenants of my apt nailed a board to the wall, with nails in it, as a coat/key rack.  I covered it in old wallpaper I thrifted in Louisville (yeah, Unique!) and got white hooks at Walmart.

Last summer, I had a dream that I lived in a place with a living room big enough to have shows in and a mermaid on the refrigerator, so I made her.
54  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / She's making pudding! on: July 11, 2005 01:43:36 PM

I've been working on this FOREVER!  I would get bored and move to something else.  Now I just have to get a frame...
Sorry about the quality of the picture--my camera's cheap.
55  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Gazpacho on: June 09, 2005 11:47:10 AM
I love it, but I've never made it.  The recipes I've found are wildly different.  Does anyone have a tested and yummy gazpacho recipe for me?
56  UNITED STATES / Indiana / Southwestern Indiana? on: June 08, 2005 10:50:47 AM
Any crafty people closer to Evansville than Bloomington or Indy?
57  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / teen librarian needs crafts! on: June 07, 2005 03:47:23 PM
Actual programs where teens actually come into the library are usually not very successful for me, so I've been experimenting with drop-in crafts.  I put up a sign with an example and put a box of supplies underneath the desk.  The last one I did was the cassette notebook craft from here and Boy! was it successful (at least by my abismal statistics).
So now I need more ideas for simple crafts with YA appeal.  Any ideas?
