2  build my self confidence by clicking here (tube top, tie, square skirt) in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by soaponarope on: July 18, 2005 11:17:25 PM
I was over at my friend's house after spending a little time at our local fabric store. We had fun. My friend is modeling.

Please excuse the bra straps, my friend could not find her strapless bra.

Tie. Gold. AWESOME.

Square skirt with cool belt.
It's too short to be worn without pants or tights.

Thanks for looking.

3  Life cereal box purse in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by soaponarope on: June 07, 2005 04:26:30 PM
I got the idea from my friend and her Capn Crunch purse,
( https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=38359.0 )
so I decided to make one of my own. This is my first project, though, so don't laugh. Oh and sorry for the blurriness of the pics. I was using a webcam.

Front again

That's the ID sleeve I glued into it.

An extra pocket with a tiny snap closure.

All I did was cut the top off a cereal box (now that think about it, I could've used the reclosable top...ah well). Sewing was REALLY hard through cardboard so I hot glued the fabric into the box, leaving a little left for a rim around the top of the outside. I cut out a few strips of fabric, same length, and glued and stapled them one on top of the other for extra strength. I hot glued AND stapled the straps to the inside edges of the box. This way, they won't fall off. I cut another small square of fabric and glued it to the inside for a pocket. I cut out a small rectangle for the flap of the pocket. I sewed on a small snap. I cut out a piece of plastic and hot glued it to the other side of the inside for an ID sleeve. Finally, I reinforced the bottom flaps with hot glue to be sure they wouldn't break when I put stuff in them. You may also want to staple these.
