21  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / My Japan travel book on: November 15, 2013 10:42:27 AM
I've made a comedy post on my blog about how to scrapbook like a boss, hopefully I'm not the only one who finds it funny!  Anyway I used this scrapbook as an example because it's the one I went most insane collecting things for and hence the one I'm most proud of.  There are more details about the lengths I went to to collect stuff for this, and a joke tutorial over at that post.

I used a big photo album I got in Japan:

There's a ton of pages in it, we were in Tokyo for 12 days and there are multiple pages per day.  You can see from the book that we went to 12 theme restaurants, and even some of them took up 2 pages!

Thank you for the detailed reply stillatthetop!  I'm going to attempt it again this weekend with some paint and sanding them a bit first, if it doesn't go smoothly I shall definitely pm you (or give up in frustration, lol).
23  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Loved up octopus couple photo frame on: November 15, 2013 08:43:07 AM
I made this photo frame as an anniversary present:

It's one of my favourite things I've ever made but it went really wrong when I thought the frame was made of metal but it was really plastic...it got totally warped in the oven.  I managed to bend it back into shape but the glass is totally wedged into the frame now so it's really hard to get out, and the corners got damaged in the process.

Anyone got ideas on how to make something like this (where the clay is wrapped around something so you have to put it all in the oven) apart from using only oven-proof items?  I can't find fully metal photo frames.

There's some more pictures and story on my blog :-)
24  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Golden dinosaur magnets on: November 11, 2013 02:18:50 PM
I saw these type of magnets doing the rounds online and decided to give it a go:

We ended up getting it really wrong, they were too heavy and the spray paint never dried so we threw them out!  Anyone know what's the deal with that?  Does some spray paint just not dry on plastic?  They were tacky for 5 months until we threw them out, which made our fingers gold when we touched them (which was a lot because they kept falling due to their weight).

There's a tutorial or what *not* to do on my blog!

This is adorable, I wonder what other tooth-related items you can make cute?  Can a toothbrush be cute?  hmm, a challenge..

Awesome!  The first thing I thought of when I saw it was the book of Kells.  The colours are prettier in my opinion though!
