1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Pattern for Floppy Brim Hat on: December 24, 2007 05:57:02 PM
I would like to knit myself a very floppy brimmed hat. I have been looking for patterns, but they are for heads that are smaller than mine. I can't seem to figure out the formula for fitting my size 27" head. Yep, a bit bigger than the average 22 inches I'm finding online; I also have a mane of pretty locks.

Anyway, if you know the formula (like for real and not just "figure it out from..."), then do post and share. Remember the ones I'm finding on the internet are for those with hair that is silky and closer to their heads.

2  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Product Tag Descriptions on: January 06, 2006 10:19:28 AM
Hello all.

I will soon be joining the ranks and selling my knitted items. I wanted to get some input as to what notes you all leave with your clients. I'm talking about the tag that explains in detail the story of the item that has been bought.

For example:
[This lovely handknit sweater is made from the finest alpaca yarn from the mountains of BlahBlah. Each stitch was knit with the care and precision of ...

Okay, so I hope that my example gives a better description. So, if you have one of these, do tell how you explain your products. Also, what kind of tag is it: square, circle, recycled paper, a business card, etc.

3  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Boucle Cardigan on: December 10, 2005 05:46:51 PM
I bought some of JoAnn's Sensations Boucle. I bought it with the intentions of making a cardigan for my 6 year old daughter. Would anyone happen to have a pattern or know somewhere I can calculate what I need in order to knit it for her?

4  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Wrist Warmers/Fingerless Gloves for Little Girl? on: November 19, 2005 03:31:27 PM
Would anyone happen to know a pattern for a little girl for the wrist warmers/fingerless gloves? She's 6 years old and would really like some and I'd like to knit them from the Caron soft yarn.

5  Florida / Florida: Central / Crafting in St. Petersburg on: July 07, 2005 05:27:29 AM
I knit and would love to meet up with fellow craftsters in the St. Petersburg area. Myself and some other ladies were meeting, but due to school, children, and other things that keep up busy, we haven't met up in a while.  Here's our site link: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/stpeteclearwaterknits/?yguid=109733800

Did those in the Clearwater/St. Pete area ever get together? If so, when, where, and what time?

6  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Pattern for a Shawl on: June 06, 2005 05:22:21 PM
I'm looking to knit a shawl for myself out of the wonderful yarn called Shimmers I just received from Knit Picks. I have 2 hanks which equal 800 yards. I would like to make a beautiful shaw with some type of feather-fan-type of design in it.

If you know of where I can get this pattern (for free, preferably), let me know.

I can't wait to use this yarn. It is nice! Its 70% alpaca and 30% silk in a turquoise blend. Beautiful.

7  CRAFTING FOR GOOD AND NOT EVIL / Crafty Charitable/Social Causes / Leukemia & Lymphoma Fundraiser on: June 06, 2005 10:43:55 AM
I am running a marathon for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society - the Women's Nike Marathon. I would like to have donated hand crafted items to post on eBay for sale where all of the proceeds would go to the Society.

If you would like to participate, email me for more information.

If you'd like to support the Society, just follow this link:

I also look forward to all other suggestions in fundraising.
