1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Pattern for Floppy Brim Hat on: December 24, 2007 05:57:02 PM
I would like to knit myself a very floppy brimmed hat. I have been looking for patterns, but they are for heads that are smaller than mine. I can't seem to figure out the formula for fitting my size 27" head. Yep, a bit bigger than the average 22 inches I'm finding online; I also have a mane of pretty locks.

Anyway, if you know the formula (like for real and not just "figure it out from..."), then do post and share. Remember the ones I'm finding on the internet are for those with hair that is silky and closer to their heads.

2  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Product Tag Descriptions on: January 06, 2006 10:19:28 AM
Hello all.

I will soon be joining the ranks and selling my knitted items. I wanted to get some input as to what notes you all leave with your clients. I'm talking about the tag that explains in detail the story of the item that has been bought.

For example:
[This lovely handknit sweater is made from the finest alpaca yarn from the mountains of BlahBlah. Each stitch was knit with the care and precision of ...

Okay, so I hope that my example gives a better description. So, if you have one of these, do tell how you explain your products. Also, what kind of tag is it: square, circle, recycled paper, a business card, etc.

3  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Rastafarian (Rasta) Tam/Beret/Hat on: December 26, 2005 08:14:59 PM
I knitted a cat's basket and my friend - who has long, gorgeous locks- ended up taking it and wearing it. Here's the pattern site: http://theknittinggarden.com/gallery-march/mar-free-3.htm
Just click on Pattern Instructions towards the bottom of the page.

Perhaps you can modify it a bit because it is for a felted basket, but its basically the same concept.

Hope this helps,

5  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Boucle Cardigan on: December 11, 2005 06:30:37 AM
Thanks. I had gone to that site, but there were no patterns that were found with Lion's brand boucle. Now I see some patterns with the Homespun.

Thanks again,

6  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Boucle Cardigan on: December 10, 2005 05:46:51 PM
I bought some of JoAnn's Sensations Boucle. I bought it with the intentions of making a cardigan for my 6 year old daughter. Would anyone happen to have a pattern or know somewhere I can calculate what I need in order to knit it for her?

Would anyone happen to know a pattern for a little girl for the wrist warmers/fingerless gloves? She's 6 years old and would really like some and I'd like to knit them from the Caron soft yarn.
