1021  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Need Help with Ugly Seams and Gaping on: June 11, 2005 06:37:41 AM
Ohh... thank you. I already sewen on the skirt though, but my friend suggested that I sewed a ribbon to cover up the seams. I'm making a second one based on what i learned from my mistakes that time, but already I figured out that I cut it and forgot to add a seam allowance.  Undecided I do have an I dea of how to fix it, but sewing in 2 inch panels on each side might make a little bit more work or eveen mess it up more because the armholes probably won't fit afterwards.  Huh

I'm Tatyana, and i'm 13 years old... This is my first post!
I have a question. I made this shirt:

And I have two problems.

The sides gape open. I am a beginner sewer, this is actually my first project, so I have no idea what to do to fix this, because minimizing my chest via plastic surgery is not an option. (B/C34)

The waistline is really messed up. I don't know how I did it, but I did. I sewed the bottom piece to elastic to cause a little gathering plus to also eliminate wrinkles, and it does indeed make the shirt fit very well. How can I fix this?

Thank You!
