1  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Bunny riding a weenie dog...good fun! on: November 18, 2008 07:40:35 PM
Since I found out I was pregnant, I started scheming all kinds of new toys the baby needed. And for the first 4 months I was too tired to do anything but think about new toys. Finally I'm back into my sewing! Here are two of my little darlings, the bunny is from lil_abi's post here: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=264486.0

Weenie dog is from here: http://dollmaker.nunodoll.com/dog/dachshund.html

So, I publicly thank both ladies for posting patterns!

2  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / Houndstooth sweater-vest to dog sweater on: June 05, 2008 08:05:28 AM
Spring cleaning unearthed a rather interesting argyle houndstooth (you're right!) sweater of my boyfriend's that I didn't know existed...rather then letting him wear it out, I turned it into a dog sweater! It's still a little bit unfinished in some spots, like the lining...but hand sewing is not something I'm looking forward to. Enjoy!

3  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Holy Moly, that's an excited Gramma! (Poppets!) on: January 01, 2008 06:51:27 PM
Update! I finally finished and gifted the 2 poppets I made, then decided I'd also slap some eyes on my first poppet and give her away too. The first pic is my Gram, very excited to have some new dolls for her grandchildren, and the second is a more detailed shot.

4  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Penelope Poppet on: November 20, 2007 12:08:03 PM
Penelope is the perfect name! Thank you Craftewoman!

I finished my Poppet in record time..for me. I really expected to botch this whole thing up, but at every stitch I kept thinking "whoa! I actually did it!" So, THANK YOU GHILIE!!!

She needs more accessories (and eyes!), I really like everyone's poppets that are decorated to the max. Here she is:

5  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / Christmas Converse...reconfigured! on: November 15, 2007 12:01:19 PM
I bought these bad boys last year, and got very little wear-time out of them (Maine...Winter...Snow. Sad) So, in an attempt to make them year round, I kept the basic color scheme but cool-a-fied them.

Here's what they looked like before:

(this website has an INSANE amount of Converse shoes. Things I've never seen. http://www.bagginsshoes.com/chucks-shop.html)

Here's new version. The white was painted pinkish, and I sprayed the green with bleach and blow-dryed to different shades of olive.

6  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / DUDE, finally...crocheted MITTENS, for a big old boy. on: November 12, 2007 05:06:17 PM
The other half was begging and begging me for mittens for a loooong time. I kept saying "I can't find a pattern! I can't find a pattern!" Finally, I decided to just make one up. They turned out pretty nice. They are actually nicer in person than they may look. The yarn is just a plain old grey wool.

You can see me standing on a step stool to take this picture. And you can see my crocheted slippers! Boy are those bad boys great! (pattern from here: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=127333.0)
7  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Any ideas of what the pattern for this bag would look like? on: September 21, 2007 10:10:39 AM
I swept through American Eagle yesterday and saw this bag. I really like how it's shaped, and want one that doesn't 1. cost $20 2. Have logo's all over it. 3. Have an affiliation with American Eagle...

I noticed at the store that the bottom is a circle...that's the baffling part!

Any help you've got, I'd appreciate it!
8  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / Dali Dog and his very own likeness! on: September 02, 2007 10:03:31 AM
Yesterday I was just in the mood to make a green dog! Here is the original Salvador Dali, and his green imposter:

9  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Salvador Dali Doggy Pillow And a Voodoo Dolly? on: September 01, 2007 06:46:16 AM
I made a few little dog stuffies. This first picture is the model and the finished product:

Here's a smaller version that I intended to use as a key-chain, but instead use it as a plant guard/decoration:

Both together:

And this is a little dolly that I made that is about 3 inches tall...it's really hard to sew so small!

10  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / How romantic! Boys looove romance, right? on: February 17, 2007 11:17:21 AM
This year I had to spend the night at work on valentines day, but I made up for it the next day with this little event...

I wrote a lovey haiku and wrote each word on a page from a book and put each word into an envelope...

I taped and placed the envelopes around the neighborhood,

The man and I took a walk to this pretty overlook of the city, collecting the envelopes all the while...at the overlook I had a box hidden with a piece of unbelievably delicious homemade cake that we were going to sit and eat together...but this is wintertime and it was miserably cold Sad So he ate the cake at home, while unscrambling the words to the haiku...quite a hit! If I may say so myself!
