I adore the navy one with anchors. The sweetheart neckline is so flattering. How did you face that one?

I'm going to have to raid my vintage t-shirt pile.

Great job on your pea coat. So cute and classic. Did you use a pattern or just wing it?

I love the sleeves. It gives a great faux shrug look. Great job!
17  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Bermuda Wrap Shorts on: June 12, 2006 11:27:08 AM

My 14-yr old daughter found the instructions to make a pair of wrap pants in my old copy of Make it with Mademoiselle. The project from start to finish took about an hour and a half to two hours. She also made a pair out of stretch denim. This pair is made from knit pique.

EDITED TO ADD:

These are made with stretch denim, elastic in the waist, and a button fastener. We cut the side panels too thin the first time, so we added contrasting panels to extend them. She wears these all the time!

My 14-yr old daughter made a pair using instructions from a book from the 70's (Make it with Mademoiselle). We used a pair of pants that fit her well to draw in the crotch. She also cut them shorter so they're like bermuda shorts. She loves them!

That dress is gorgeous on you! I wouldn't change a thing.

I am also short with a long torso (5' 4 1/2" -- too tall for petite, too short for misses). I was told the most flattering dress length for a short person is right at the knee. You want the hem to hit at a slender part of your leg. It really creates the illusion of long, shapely legs. Anyhow, works for my stubby legs.
20  CRAFTSTER CRAFT CHALLENGES / Craftster Craft Challenge Theme Ideas, Etc. / What else can you do with flatback marbles? on: May 02, 2006 08:21:58 AM
I love flatback marble magnets, but I'd love to see what other uses they can be put to.
