1  Re: Getting that handpainted look? in Knitting: Discussion and Questions by bijouxmaster on: July 30, 2006 08:16:06 PM
Crock pot dyeing with Wilton's cake frosting dye.  It is super duper easy & the effect is great - the dye splits - this is from black though admittedly I haven't tried any other color....

Here it is - DONE.  Knitted in Erdal Lazer #317.  I loved this yarn despite it being 75% acryllic / 25% wool.  Cheap & super soft.

I'm making mine right now but it makes me sad to see the colorful ones - mine is plain plain plain.  Which I'm sure I'll be happy about later, but for now I'm bored....
I'm actually further than this but I just didn't feel like taking another picture.  I'll post the final when I'm done.

4  Rowan Ribbon Twist Collection- Beth in Knitalongs by bijouxmaster on: May 26, 2006 01:09:40 PM
I have a pile of Berrocco Vibe that I bought to make a sweater & I have decided that I don't like the pattern I was using.  So I am frogging all the pieces (gasp) and making something else.  In my search for a great pattern I came across the "Beth" in the Rowan Ribbon Twist Collection book.  Anyone want to join me?  Or for any sweater in this book in that I love every one of them!

I am currently working on a Clapotis & am on those straight rows - I need something different / more challenging to work between the two.   Tongue

Here is my yarn (in Doo Wop)

And here are the Rowan pictures (Beth is the sweater in the middle of the first row under "more patterns in this collection"

5  Old foot locker in What the heck can I do with THIS? by bijouxmaster on: March 27, 2006 11:53:58 AM
I have no idea what section to post this in.
My in laws bought me this for $1 at a yard sale.  I know I can do something cool with it, but I really don't know what.  I did a search on this board & came up with a few topics but no pictures - i guess they were older topics & the pictures were gone.  I think i can decoupage it? clean, sand & paint the hardware?  HELP you crafty girls!

6  Re: panta! (from a finnish pattern). in Knitting: Completed Projects by bijouxmaster on: March 21, 2006 02:53:58 PM

Here's mine.  It looks awful on me, so I guess I'll give it to someone that it looks good on.

Having said that, it was a ball to make, so I immediately started one but I'm only doing 3 ribs on it.  Out of this yarn just because I have it.

Here's hoping my LYS still has some of the first yarn on clearance ($3.50) because I really really love the way it looks & think I'll get more wear out of that one.

7  Re: 'Knitting Olympics' knitalong in Knitalongs by bijouxmaster on: February 21, 2006 08:16:20 AM
I finished my tote - we (girl helping me with my finishing & myself) put the handles on wrong.  So I'm going to end up cutting them off & lining it & sewing them back on, but I won't do that until I return from vacation next week.  I think it came out good, although it's smaller than I imagined.  Before it was felted I could have worn it as a dress.

Progress on my bag on my second attempt.  I'm about 9 inches in & I did the handles, although they seem a bit uneven.....

You can read about my first failed attempt here:
