Hey, Does anyone know if it's possible to dye hair back to brown from pink? I've got pink streaks (bleached and then manic panic dye over the bleach) in my hair at the moment but I want to dye it back to dark brown and dye the rest of my hair dark brown too...Is it possible to do this at home or do I need to go to a salon really?

hi, just try the vit c thing i poster above then use a filler (pre pigmentation) before you dye it brown, i used goldwell pre pigmentation red before i dyed my hair red, it helps the red stay longer too. but if they are just small streaks maybe covering it with a permanent dye would work

hi everyone just thought id add a tip

this is great and hasnt damaged my hair at all, i'd had my hair dyed black and blue/purple for 6 years and fancied dying my hair for a change...to a reddish brown, close to my natural colour, i took some vitamin c tablets and mixed it with some conditioner to make a paste then i left it on my damp hair for just over half an hour i think, i done this twice over a few days and it took almost all the purple out and faded the black (been permanent black for 6 years) to a mid brown, woohoo!! as a result it was easier to bleach lighter   Grin

hope this helps! its good if you have bleached your hair for a bright colour like special effects/manic panic etc and want to change to a completely different colour.

It has been MONTHS of reading/playing with vintage techniques and FINALLY I am getting the hang of half waves and pin curls...I did this after studying pics of Marilyn Monroe this weekend!

I think that my victory rolls still have a ways to go though, I think the trick is be ASYMMETRICAL about the roll placement, which is what I forget to do cuz I have short Bettie Bangs and the part there forces my rolls to be symetrical: this is an older pic, but my rolls don't have enough height.. I NEED A RAT!

these are my Bettie Bangs (not staying curled under..grr), see how they are in a triangular part, not rectangular? that makes asymmetrical parts for rolls really HARD:

I am taking pre-natals and my hair is growing out, when I hit 6" I am getting the 1940s Middy Long cut, then this should be easier!

QUESTION>>>> DO yall make rats out of your own hair? I think I may need to, my hair is HELLS red, so a blonde or brunnette rat wont cut it.

your hair looks great!!! i think i look weird with pin curls, they keep my ears warm tho....
as for rats, make them out of hair extensions, that way you can dye it the right colour if the extensions are real hair!
