2  cute animal hats in Clothing Sewalongs by Fee on: January 06, 2007 07:15:32 AM
I've fallen in love with these cute animal hats, So i've decided I'm going to make myself a panda. If you're not sure what I mean here's some examples:

(these pics were ripped off deviant art and right here on craftster, they're not mine!)

But how cute?!  Cheesy

Anyways, I've never made a hat before, so I thought it might be nice for a group of us to have a crack at it together?

Theres a couple of tutorials floating around:

I've already ordered some off-white and black anti-pill fleece off ebay, but I don't think it'll be here untill end of next week. Oh well Smiley

If anyone is interested talk to me! The only animals I could think of doing apart from a panda were: a rabbit (these are cute with the long droopey ears), a cat, and well just some random characters really lol.

Anyone wanting to be more original than me and make a chicken or something is very very encouraged!!

(I have no idea what the t shirt is about lol I just googled foil effect and that came up!)

Does anyone know it is done? Is it iron on? Or special fabric paint? Or just plain old industrial magic?

4  acrylic study of a study in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by Fee on: December 20, 2006 04:43:14 AM
My favourite artist is a Canadian one called Heather Horton. She does fantastic portraits, her skin tones are fantasic and her composition is always spot on. I love her stuff. Which explains why I'm studying her for my A Level art coursework. The below painting is part of my critical studies.

My painting didn't take very long, maybe 3 hours? It's arcylic paint on deep edge canvas. As always the camera has changed the colours a little, but I really am proud of this.

and the other study I'm about 3/4 of the way through http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/40400402/?qo=9&q=by%3Aheatherhorton&qh=sort%3Atime+-in%3Ascraps

5  ZAP tee shirt in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Fee on: July 28, 2006 04:22:00 AM
The second tee shirt dress my mum gave me to cut up, both were size 14 so i took them down to a better 10/12 and on this black one I've apliquéd a big white lightning bolt on!

I kinda wish the bolt were more down my front but from the side i think it looks great.

I used bondaweb then sew round the edge of the appliqué in the hope that the edges might frey at bit in the wash and look a bit punk rock (haha  Grin)

Any comments welcome!

p.s. the first dress i did: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=109978.0

7  Slouchy messenger bag *packed with pictures* in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Fee on: May 30, 2006 01:41:24 PM
I should be revising, as my mum keeps reminding me my exams aren't over yet!!

Even so, this little project allowed me to relax then become slightly obsessed and overly involved... Anyway it's done now. Hopefully I can channel that energy into my French oral *twitch*

Once I'd done I thought it looked pretty bare so I added this army badge I found in a charity shop last summer... I picked it up for about 50p but I'm pretty sure it's a genuine George VI army badge! Its got some pretty neat stitching on it too... When I bought it, it was still attached to the pocket it had been hand sewn onto, so I know its real Smiley

Even with the badge on it looked a bit dull so some culouful buttons went on just to brighten it up a bit  Cheesy

And finally a pretty awful action shot...

I followed Tinafish's tutorial for slouchy bags. This was a present for my friend Hannah... Hope she liked it Wink

Note: I'm awful at sewing, so its amazing it's even functional.
