Beautifully done!  Sometimes it's better that you don't know what you don't know, or you wouldn't have the courage to begin.  Wink

Thank you, I totally agree with you. I don't think I would've had the courage to start making this quilt if I knew at the start what it would've taken to finish. Truely a project only a newbie with no understanding could come up with!! Smiley

Thank you all ever so much for so many kind words. I keep popping back to read them over and over as they make me really happy to read them. I appreciate each and every one if you for taking your time to leave sweet comments about the quilt Smiley

I absolutely ADORE this quilt. It was such and inspiration and really kept me going during the porcess of making my own Doctor Who quilt to see such an amazing (and finished!) Doctor Who quilt. Thank you for being so inspirational!

oh my goodness, thank you so SO much for your kind comments. I never expected such amazing words! You guys have really warmed my heart *gush*

The gallifreyan - No one really knows. The most mainstream theory is that it says the Doctor's name, but when you watch the series, at no point does it say what it means. Things are only implied. It could be the doctor's name, river's name, their baby's name, their family names put together, god knows. In fact, I would LOVE to speak to the person who designed it, just so I know at last. To me though, it doesn't really matter what it says. It was obviously something very important and representative of the love between the doctor and his wife, which is why I fell in love with the idea of having it on the quilt I made for my boyfriend. I also really liked it as a design, I think it's beautiful.

I am thinking of converting it into a wall hanging or something as at the moment, very sadly, it's just folded up and put away because I stupidly made some parts quite delicate *rolls eyes*. I know not to do that for next time!!

By the way, I have LOADS of spoonflower printed TARDIS fabrics to give away. I had bought them for use on this quilt but didn't end up using them. When I prewashed it, I saw some fading and I didn't want anything to fade on the quilt!! So the TARDIS fabrics need a good new home and I can't think of anyone better to offer them to than you lovely people who have been so kind to me. Please let me know if you want them. I'll send them to whoever posts first (as I can't think of a better way to pick that doesn't come across as touting for more replies...)

Yes my boyfriend loves it. He's been so supportive through out the process, making me coffees, providing hugs and listening to me whinge about how much work it was taking!! He's a true angel.

I just wanted to say again just how much your kind comments have meant to me, you guys have given me truely kind words. Thank you Smiley

Thank you so much for your lovely comments, they mean so much to me Smiley

The quilt is huge, at least a double. I used a white souble pen (which btw, has not dissolved after numerous spraying the a water bottle) to mark out the circles onto the background fabric. I hand basted the thicker circles before machine appliquing them on. Does that make sense?

I finally finished my Doctor Who Gallifreyan Quilt for my boyfriend's birthday. Took me 3 months and 130 hours from start to finish. http://handmadewardrobe.com/2013/04/28/the-doctor-who-gallifreyan-quilt-is-done/
