1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Monster Bag on: October 14, 2005 01:40:33 PM
I finally made a purse that I like, and  that isn't held together with duct tape that falls apart in 2 days!

I saw this amazing fur at the store the other day 50% off, and I remembered seeing something like a furry monster bag on here a long time ago, so thank you to whoever made it, because it really inspired me.

So here he is!

It's the size of a messenger bag if you can't tell, and its all hand-sewn, with purple monster fur, googly eyes, felt, white socks for teeth, and I had some left over vinyl from re-upholstering my car seats, so the strap is vinyl.
2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / easy no-sew purse?? on: March 17, 2005 05:44:00 PM
I hope this is allowed here...
but..does anyone have links, tutorials, sites, anything as to how to make a purse without sewing? I get so inspired by all your purses, but then I realize..thats way too much to sew by hand, I suck at sewing by hand, I don't have a sewing machine, etc. I loved the t-shirt purse idea, but I have a million of them now.. I get confused by duct tape purses, and yeah >_< If anyone has any directions or ideas for a super easy but nice looking purse I'd really really appreciate it!
3  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Party Bottle Poppers on: March 07, 2005 11:51:54 AM
I have I believe 900 (or ermm..maybe it was 190 or something..it had a 9, I lost the package thing) of those little bottles that you pull the string and they blow confetti out left over from a new years party a few years ago, and I have no idea what to do with them. There's so many so I don't want to just throw them away though. Any ideas would be very very much appreciated ^_^
4  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / interfacing.. on: August 31, 2004 06:24:18 PM
Ack. Sorry..I've been here watching craftster, and occasionally posting for awhile now and I still don't know the right place to put random questions!

So..sorry if this is the wrong place.
I have a really stupid question....
what is interfacing?

I don't have a sewing machine so I don't make clothes that much as hand sewing isn't too fun, but I'm assuming it has something to do with sewing...stuff..

Thanks for helping me with this ^_^..
5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Making..anything, out of old dresses?? on: July 02, 2004 05:53:21 PM
I'm not sure if this is the right place..I havent posted here for a super-long time. But..I bought these dresses at Gabriel Brothers a long time ago, and I really like them..but they just don't work as dresses. One is a silver/grey, that has pink and grey dragonflies and it looks like someone burned them into the dress, so its pretty cool..and I have some other flowery ones and stuff..but I have no idea what to do with them..

I also need some..suggestions for making clothes.(hopefully skirts..) out of some old shirts I have that are so old and..ugly I'd never wear in public (like shirts from vacations, like, some park in tennessee or something) but here's the catch..I have..no sewing machine. I had a handheld one, but it broke. It lasted..3 days. I'll sew by hand if I HAVE to..but yeah. I neeed some suggestions from all you great, crafty people!
6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Safety pin braclet..different from most I've seen? on: February 01, 2004 07:21:28 PM
My friend made this for me a year ago and I just found it, i dunno if anyone's made something like this or not, but I thought someone might like the idea..

I'm not -positive- how she made it..but it looks like she took elastic string, put beads on both the string and safety pins and just slid the safety pins on.
7  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / chinese takeout lanterns.. on: February 01, 2004 07:17:10 PM
I saw this lamp at Spencers the other day and thought it'd  be really easy to make..but I've yet to get the right stuff for it :\ It was a chinese take-out box, (I forget what they're called..those cool shaped ones though ^_^ ) and it had chinese symbols cut out in the side for light to come thru, and there was a lightbulb inside and a little hold in the back for the cord to come out of. You could probably just paint and design the box like you want and do the lighting stuff. I dunno. I thought it was really cute.
8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Decorating plain shirts..? on: February 01, 2004 06:58:54 PM
I know someone posted something like this before so I'm sorry for posting something already..posted I guess.. but I have a BUNCH of these plain shirts I bought from BMoss for like, 3$ a year or two ago, and I never wear them because..they're plain.

As you can see.. I have uhmm..a lot of colors. And there's other colors drifting around my room somewhere. I have no idea what to put on them or do with them. I dunno if this helps any, but like.. if I had to label myself *hates labels* I'd put myself in the metalhead-punk whatever area.. I guess. So I really don't want anything flowery, or something that looks like a "grandma craft/shirt" (nothing wrong with those of course ^.^ just not what I wear.) I thought about putting maybe..a few big stars across the middle..but I still need some ideas.

Thank you a lot in advance!!
9  SEWING IN GENERAL / Machine Embroidery: Discussion and Questions / embroidering...? on: January 26, 2004 07:36:48 AM
X_x; Sorry if this is in the wrong..board..I've been I guess, watching and reading stuff from Craftster for awhile now, but had no reason to post because my stuff is so crappy Tongue so..yeah, this is m'first post, and I was wondering..sorry if its a dumb question, but exactly how does embroidering work? I mean, i've never looked at it closely, but is it a lot of work? or is it just like, a huge thick chunk of embroidery-stuff slapped on something? I was going to buy this on ebay today, but realized someone probably made it and it isn't real band-merchandise and yeah. If someone did make it, couldn't i make it?

Yeah. o_o;; thanks for any help ^^;;
